Og Carina II ble tatt i mot med \u00e5pne armer, i hvert fall i Norge. Den ble raskt en av bestselgerne, &#8211; en typisk familiebil som konkurrerte mot Ford Sierra, Volkswagen Golf og Toyota Corolla.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>F\u00f8rste Carina II kom hit i 1984, men fikk en mild facelift allerede \u00e5ret etter. Den eneste synlige endringen, var ny grill, kanskje for \u00e5 myke opp linjene litt. P\u00e5 80-tallet begynte nemlig konkurrentene \u00e5 f\u00e5 rundere former, for eksempel Ford Sierra i 1983 og Opel Kadett i 1985. F\u00f8rsteutgaven av Carina II (internt T150) ble etter bare 4 \u00e5r avl\u00f8st av en ny modell med rundere former, men fortsatt kalt Carina II (internt T170).<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJeg synes bakpartiet p\u00e5 Liftback-utgaven ikke harmonerer s\u00e5 bra med resten av bilen. Det ser ut som om noen har tegnet inn trekantvinduet og bakd\u00f8ren utenp\u00e5 en eksisterende 4-d\u00f8rsutgave for \u00e5 spare utviklingskostnader. Men det var forst\u00e5elig nok Liftback-utgaven som solgte best i Norge. Dette var den f\u00f8rste moderne Toyota mellomklassebil slik vi kjenner dem.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nCarina II har den gode, gamle Toyota-kvaliteten. Dette er bruksbiler som bare g\u00e5r og g\u00e5r, og som det nesten er umulig \u00e5 ta livet av. N\u00e5r de likevel ender i pressa er det dels p\u00e5 grunn av rust og det faktum at f\u00e5 syntes det er noen vits i \u00e5 ta vare p\u00e5 Carina&#8217;er for ettertiden, &#8211; en skjebne de deler med andre typiske bruksbiler.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDen f\u00f8rste Carina II (T150) begynner \u00e5 bli vanskelig \u00e5 oppdrive. Jeg kom over et eksemplar her om dagen med 1,8 GLI, en innspr\u00f8ytningsmotor p\u00e5 101 HK.
