Hvordan ser Audis tidlige spissteknologi ut sett med dagens \u00f8yne?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Audi f\u00f8r det ble et luksusmerke<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg oppdaget bilen i Skindergade, K\u00f8benhavn, utenfor en av byens fris\u00f8rer. Det er uvanlig \u00e5 parkere her, men dette var da heller ingen vanlig bil. Eieren var sikkert bare snarlig innom for \u00e5 stusse h\u00e5ret. Audien s\u00e5 ut som en ur\u00f8rt bruksbil, men bar alderen godt. Det er ikke ofte man f\u00e5r se en Audi V8 p\u00e5 gaten.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI dagens bilpark fremst\u00e5r den ikke som noen prangende bil. De rette, stramme linjene assosieres med diskr\u00e9t eleganse for bankdirekt\u00f8rer og stjerneadvokater som ville ha det beste uten \u00e5 vise hvor rike de var. Tidligere, da Audi-merket ikke var like prestisjepreget som idag, appellerte bilene til mennesker som var over gjennomsnittet interessert i kj\u00f8reegenskaper og teknikk. Selv om Audiene var kostbare biler, var de ikke like mye forbundet med status som idag. Folk som \u00f8nsket \u00e5 flashe rikdom, valgte derfor heller andre merker. For \u00e5 komme p\u00e5 h\u00f8yde med prestisjemerker som Mercedes-Benz og BMW, trengte Audi b\u00e5de en modell i storbilklassen og en V8 motor. Resultatet ble en bil som p\u00e5 flere omr\u00e5der overgikk konkurrentene. Audi tilb\u00f8d kun ett motorvalg &#8211; V8 med Quattro permanent firehjulstrekk. Verdt \u00e5 nevne var ogs\u00e5 galvanisert karosseri, automatisk klimaanlegg, BOSE-radio, integrert GSM-telefon (!), skinninteri\u00f8r og airbag &#8211; alt var standard. Modellen ble kalt Audi V8 og skulle bli forl\u00f8peren til Audi A8. Motorblokken var st\u00f8pt i aluminium, 3,6 liter med 32 ventiler, 4 overliggende kamaksler og Bosch Motronic innspr\u00f8ytning. Effekten var 250 HK med et dreiemoment p\u00e5 340 Nm. Fra modell\u00e5r 1991 ble slagvolumet utvidet til 4.2 liter og effekten \u00f8kt til 280 HK. Bilene kunne leveres med automat fra ZF eller manuelle girkasser &#8211; 5 trinns for 3,6 og 6 trinns for 4.2.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAudi V8 (44) var basert p\u00e5 en forlenget versjon av Audi 100 C3. Da Audi lanserte en ny Audi 100 C4, ble denne modellen basis for en oppgradert versjon av Audi V8 (4C).<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n\u201c4.2\u201d ble en motorst\u00f8rrelse som skulle f\u00f8lge Audis V8-motorer i flere ti\u00e5r. I f\u00f8rste omgang som et motoralternativ til S4 og S6-modellene. Det er kanskje disse modellene man f\u00f8rst og fremst forbinder med Audis tidlige V8-motorer. Jeg aner ikke hvor mange som ble solgt som nye her. I dag finnes det i hvert fall \u00e9n \u201cnorsk\u201d bil registrert i Bergen i 1992 (SR 44144). Alle de andre bilene er bruktimporterte. Det er trolig flere Audi V8 i Norge i dag enn da bilene var nye. Ved \u00e5rsskiftet fantes det 27 biler hvorav 7 hadde skilter og godkjent EU. Flesteparten var avregistrerte &#8211; forh\u00e5pentligvis kun for vinteropplag eller for renovering. Som hobbybil, derimot, kan det v\u00e6re et godt alternativ. Prisene er enn\u00e5 ganske lave. I Europa kan man f\u00e5 gode eksemplarer med servicehefte og km-stand under 200000 km til omkring 150000 kroner.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nMotorene kan holde sv\u00e6rt lenge hvis servicene er fulgt. If\u00f8lge nettbaserte brukerfora er typiske feil knyttet til innspr\u00f8ytningssystemet, oljelekkasjer og overoppheting. Registerreim byttes ved 90000 km for 3,6-motoren og 120000 for 4.2-motoren.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAutomatkassene fra ZF er driftssikre (tysk kvalitet) men avhengig av olje\/filterskift ved foreskrevne intervaller og normale kj\u00f8rem\u00f8nstre.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFeil p\u00e5 eldre ABS-systemer er dessverre ikke uvanlig, og kan v\u00e6re kostbare og kompliserte \u00e5 fikse. I motsetning til mange 4WD-systemer er ikke Quattro-systemet i Audi V8 avhengig av ABS, men ABS-feil gir ub\u00f8nnh\u00f8rlig 2-er feil p\u00e5 EU-kontroll.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nEn snodig spesialitet verdt \u00e5 nevne, er bremsene foran, som har skjulte bremsecalipere og UFO-formede bremseskiver. I s\u00e5 fall skulle Audi V8 kunne kalles \u201cur-V8\u201d eller noe s\u00e5nt. Audi V8 er sv\u00e6rt anonym &#8211; som et sveitsisk ur som kun f\u00e5r anerkjennende blikk fra kjennere. Som veteranbil er den et alternativ til Jaguar XJ6, Maserati Quattroporte og Mercedes-Benz W126. Audis fordel er kj\u00f8reegenskapene. Store Audier er meget godt lydisolerte hvor kun de gode lydene fra motoren trer frem under akselerasjon. Understellet gir en god balanse mellom komfort og sportslighet.
