G\u00e5r man Audiene n\u00e6rmere etter i s\u00f8mmene, finner man at de er bygget av identiske komponenter, og har samme akselavstand og sporvidder som en tilsvarende modell fra Volkswagen, Skoda eller Seat. Det gj\u00f8r ikke Audien til noen d\u00e5rlig bil, men &#8211; \u00e6rlig talt &#8211; det er ingen ekte Audi selv om markedsf\u00f8ringsfolkene vil ha deg til \u00e5 tro det. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Hva kjennetegner en ekte Audi?<\/h3>\n<p>Tradisjonelt er en ekte Audi utstyrt med langsstilt motor, gjerne Audis permanente firehjulstrekk <em>Quattro<\/em>, utstrakt bruk av aluminium og et motoralternativ som ingen &#8211; eller ytterst f\u00e5 andre biler i Volkswagen-gruppen har maken til. Ny teknologi gj\u00f8r disse egenskapene mindre relevante, og man kan sp\u00f8rre seg hvor man vil finne Audis tekniske forsprang i kommende bilmodeller. \/>\nDa Audi lanserte A2 for modell\u00e5ret 2000, hadde de ikke hatt noen sm\u00e5bil i modellprogrammet siden Audi 50. Typiske Audi-egenskaper, som langsstilt motor og konstant firehjulstrekk, passet ikke i en sm\u00e5bil. Men Audi A2 ble bygget i aluminium med sandwich-bunn. Det ble spekulert i om Audi hadde planer om \u00e5 lansere en elektrisk versjon senere, men det skjedde ikke. Samme spekulasjoner ble gjort da Mercedes-Benz A-klasse ble lansert, ogs\u00e5 den med dobbeltbunn. Heller ikke den ble noensinne bygget som elbil. At Audi valgte \u00e5 bygge A2 som en h\u00f8ybygd bil med dobbeltbunn, kan ha v\u00e6rt for \u00e5 kunne konkurrere med Mercedes-Benz A-klasse.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ble ingen salgssuksess<\/h3>\n<p>Da produksjonen stanset i 2005 hadde prosjektet endt med et tap p\u00e5 ufattelige 1,3 milliarder euro. Audi hadde h\u00e5pet \u00e5 selge 60 000 biler pr \u00e5r. Det klarte de nesten i topp\u00e5ret 2001, deretter sank salget &#8211; mye. I Norge ble det registrert 504 nye Audi A2 det \u00e5ret. Var Audi A2 forut for sin tid? Var den for spesiell? betraktninger<\/h3>\n<p>Audi A2 sto p\u00e5 listen over kandidater da vi skulle kj\u00f8pe bil-nummer-to i 2002. P\u00e5 den tiden kj\u00f8rte jeg en Audi C4 V6 med automat og klima. Den store Audien var en skikkelig motorvei-cruiser &#8211; tysk ingeni\u00f8rkunst &#8211; p\u00e5 alle m\u00e5ter en ekte Audi. Audi A2 var i mine \u00f8yne ogs\u00e5 en ekte Audi, spesielt fordi det var den f\u00f8rste vanlige Audi etter A8 som var bygget i aluminium. Dessuten fant jeg igjen samme &laquo;Concert&raquo; radio og klimastyringspanel som i A6&#8217;en min. Men vi valgte ikke Audi A2 &#8211; vi valgte en annen bil fra samme lokaler &#8211; den da nye Volkswagen Polo mk4. Den var betydelig billigere enn A2, hadde samme motor &#8211; 1,4 75HK &#8211; automatgir og et interi\u00f8r som lignet mye p\u00e5 interi\u00f8ret i Audi A2, &#8211; og kanskje det viktigste av alt &#8211; Polo hadde 5 seter &#8211; A2 hadde bare 4.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Signalmodell<\/h3>\n<p>\u00d8konomer ville nok betrakte Audi A2 som en flopp. Blant publikum ble det en modell man enten elsket eller hatet. Bilpressen beskrev A2 som en modell som skulle bevise at Audis forsprang l\u00e5 i teknikken &#8211; alts\u00e5 tjene som en signalmodell. I bilbransjen er det ikke uvanlig \u00e5 lansere signalmodeller, hvis oppgave ikke er \u00e5 skape masse salgsinntekter, men bidra til \u00e5 vise frem teknikk og design for \u00e5 fremme salget av andre modeller fra samme produsent. Volkswagen Polo mk4 med samme motor og automatgir veier til sammenligning 1199 kg. Den 4-sylindrede 1,4 motoren gir et fint lydbilde, men er ikke spesielt \u00f8konomisk p\u00e5 bensinen sett med dagens \u00f8yne. I et fors\u00f8k p\u00e5 \u00e5 skape en milj\u00f8bil, lanserte Audi &laquo;3L&raquo; (3 liter) som var 40 kg lettere og  utstyrt med en 3-sylindret 1,2 liter TDI 61 HK som bare skulle bruke 3 liter pr 100 km. Det fungerte bra. S\u00e5 bra at mange hevder at 3L er den varianten som best representerer hensikten med A2-prosjektet og s\u00e5ledes mest bevaringsverdig.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Mulig fremtidig klassiker<\/h3>\n<p>Ting som taler for en fremtidig klassikertilv\u00e6relse, er at bilene er spesielle, kontroversielle og relativt sjeldne. Det som kan tale imot, er at designet har t\u00e5lt tidens tann forbausende godt. Linjene lever fortsatt i andre, h\u00f8ybygde sm\u00e5biler, som for eksempel BMW i3. Audi A2 b\u00e6rer ingen preg av \u00e5 v\u00e6re en gammel bil.<\/p>\n<p>Det vil v\u00e6re god tilgang p\u00e5 slitasjedeler, men karosseriskader kan v\u00e6re vanskelige \u00e5 utbedre. Konseptbilen ble vist samme \u00e5r som BMW presenterte sitt f\u00f8rste i3-konsept. Hvis A2 Electric hadde kommet i produksjon med e-Golf drivverk, kunne den ha v\u00e6rt en konkurrent til BMW i3. Men interessen for tidlige elbiler var ikke like stor i Europa som i Norge, noe som kan ha bidratt til at nye A2 ble skrinlagt.<\/p>\n<p>En annen konseptbil som er utpekt til \u00e5 bli A2 sin etterf\u00f8lger, er <a href=\"https:\/\/www.audi.com\/en\/innovation\/concept-cars\/audi-aime.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Audi Ai-Me<\/strong><\/a> som ble presentert i 2019. Siden konseptbilen er basert p\u00e5 Volkswagen ID.3, er det ikke utenkelig at Audi vil plassere den p\u00e5 niv\u00e5 med A3, hvis den kommer i produksjon. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Et tankekors<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg fors\u00f8kte innledningsvis \u00e5 forklare hva jeg legger i en ekte Audi. Egenskapene knyttet til drivverk, vil man ikke like lett finne i nye elbiler. Er Audi i ferd med \u00e5 miste forspranget i teknikken og ende opp som en Volkswagen eller Skoda med kjempegrill, 4 ringer og j\u00e5lete belysning?
