Merker som AC, Bristol, TVR, for eksempel, dukker sjelden opp andre steder. Dessuten har britiske karosserimakere f\u00e5tt spille en aktiv rolle i engelsk bilindustri. Oppfinnsomheten kjenner ingen grenser.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Mens sn\u00f8en lavet ned i Oslo, tok vi en tur for \u00e5 bes\u00f8ke v\u00e5r datter og hennes forlovede i Hertfordshire, England, hvor p\u00e5skeliljene sto i full blomst. Vi tilbragte en fin dag og kveld i London. Mens kona mi gikk p\u00e5 shopping i Chelsea, gikk jeg rundt og studerte finere klassiske biler i den gamle Oympiahallen. Det var p\u00e5fallende mange bes\u00f8kere der, de fleste gr\u00e5h\u00e5rede herrer kledt i m\u00f8rke allv\u00e6rsjakker &#8211; som meg. <\/p>\n<p>Utstillingen besto b\u00e5de av biler fra bilforretninger og medlemsbiler knyttet til inviterte bilklubber. Flere av bes\u00f8kerne kikket p\u00e5 biler de kunne tenke seg \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe. P\u00e5 l\u00f8rdag og s\u00f8ndag var det duket for auksjon, men jeg er usikker p\u00e5 hvor mange biler som faktisk blir omsatt p\u00e5 denne m\u00e5ten. Det skaper i alle fall &laquo;liv og r\u00f8re&raquo; i de gamle hallene.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote><p>Her er noen smakebiter fra utstillingen. Selv om den nye A110-modellen allerede kan regnes som klassisk, er jeg mest betatt av den gamle. Det var vanskelig \u00e5 f\u00e5 tatt gode bilder av den, p\u00e5 grunn av alle som ville pr\u00f8vesitte den nye bilen ved siden av. Det skal sies at det finnes et godt milj\u00f8 for A110 i England. Dessuten er de nye bilene generelt b\u00e5de billigere og lettere \u00e5 f\u00e5 tak i enn de gamle. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2bigger\">BMW 3,0 CSL &laquo;DIY&raquo;<\/h3>\n<p><figure Med redusert vekt og ekstra aerodynamikk, ga de 206 hestene i rekkesekseren sv\u00e6rt gode ytelser for sin tid; 0-100 p\u00e5 7 sekunder og toppfart p\u00e5 220 km\/t. Dr\u00f8mmebilen sto sammen med 4 andre klassikere som alle kunne karakteriseres som renoveringsobjekter.
