Har du sett en McLaren F1 p\u00e5 n\u00e6rt hold, glemmer du den aldri.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">&laquo;Skremmende \u00e5 kj\u00f8re&raquo; <\/h3>\n<p>Sannsynligheten for \u00e5 m\u00f8te denne bilen p\u00e5 veien er mikroskopisk. For det f\u00f8rste, ble det bygget kun 106 stykker. For det andre, bruker man ikke denne bilen til daglige kj\u00f8returer, s\u00e5fremt man ikke er &laquo;bilgal&raquo; og s\u00f8kkrik. <em>Elon Musk<\/em> og <em>Rowan Atkinson<\/em> gjorde det og begge krasjet etter hvert sine biler. Elon Musk sin bil endte som et uforsikret totalvrak, mens Rowan Atkinson fikk sin bil rettet opp to ganger f\u00f8r han solgte den. Bilen p\u00e5 bildet kunne ha lidd samme skjebne. \u00c9n av tidligere eiere, <em>Liam Howlett<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/theprodigy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Prodigy<\/strong><\/a>) solgte den fordi han syntes den var for skremmende \u00e5 kj\u00f8re.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet som kjennetegner McLaren F1 er at den er fri for computere. Designer og McLaren grunnlegger <em>Gordon Murray<\/em> la vekt p\u00e5 at modellen skulle v\u00e6re utstyrt med en naturlig aspirert motor hvor kreftene ble levert spontant og line\u00e6rt uten \u00e5 &laquo;kicke&raquo; inn med etterslep. McLaren F1 var verdens raskeste bil da den kom ut i 1992, helt frem til 2003 da rekorden ble sl\u00e5tt av <em>Bugatti Veyron<\/em> med fler. Men McLaren er fremdeles verdens raskeste bil med naturlig aspirert motor. Da Liam Howlett kj\u00f8pte bilen i 1997, sendte han den til fabrikken for \u00e5 f\u00e5 den omlakkert i magnesium gr\u00e5. Senere fikk han fabrikken til \u00e5 utstyre bilen med McLaren&#8217;s <em>High Downforce Kit<\/em> som blant annet best\u00e5r av ny front med frontleppe og stor spoiler bak. Andre biler med dette kit&#8217;et fikk skjermbreddere og 18 tommers hjul. Dermed st\u00e5r denne bilen som den eneste med Downforce kit p\u00e5 standard McLaren 17 tommers hjul. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Kompromissl\u00f8s<\/h3>\n<p>Det er ingen overdrivelse \u00e5 betegne F1 som kompromissl\u00f8st sportslig &#8211; sannsynligvis det n\u00e6rmeste man kan komme formel-1 f\u00f8lelse p\u00e5 veien. Du klyver inn i kupeen gjennom saksed\u00f8rer. F\u00f8rerposisjonen er midtstilt med ett sete p\u00e5 hver side skj\u00f8vet en halv lengde bak f\u00f8reren. Instrumentbordet og hendler er ogs\u00e5 som man vil forvente i en formel-1 bil for 30 \u00e5r siden. Setene er lette og formst\u00f8pte med minimal padding. Paul Stewart eide bilen i cirka 10 \u00e5r f\u00f8r den ble solgt videre til <em>Johann Rupert<\/em>, en storinvestor i S\u00f8r-Afrika. Bilen ble da satt p\u00e5 et museum i Cape Town, men ble sist observert i England i 2020. Det var da jeg fikk studere den &#8211; p\u00e5 London Classic Car Show &#8211; akkurat en uke f\u00f8r verden falt av hengslene i Covid-feber. I London var bilen utstilt p\u00e5 standen til auksjonshuset Coys, sammen med andre klassiske biler som skulle auksjoneres bort p\u00e5 utstillingens siste dag. Men den flotte bilen ble da kun vist frem uten at det ble \u00e5pnet for budgivning. Kanskje den bare skulle v\u00e6re et trekkplaster?<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet er selvf\u00f8lgelig synd at en bil som dette, kun kan beskues p\u00e5 museum og ikke langs veien. Men det er ogs\u00e5 sv\u00e6rt forst\u00e5elig n\u00e5r den er estimert til ufattelige 12 &#8211; 15 millioner britiske pund, alts\u00e5 mellom 140 &#8211; 180 millioner norske kroner.
