De skal erstattes med et system som utelukkende er basert p\u00e5 kameraer, som de eneste i hele verden.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Tesla velger sin egen vei<\/h3>\n<p><em>Elon Musk<\/em> har uttalt at et kamerabasert overv\u00e5kingssystem kan gj\u00f8re like bra jobb som det  menneskelige \u00f8yet, samtidig som han ford\u00f8mte LIDAR &#8211; systemet som alle andre bilprodusenter baserer seg p\u00e5. Tesla har hittil brukt ultrasoniske avstandssensorer sammen med kameraer. Siden sensorene hovedsakelig er brukt til parkeringsassistanse, skal ikke bortfallet medf\u00f8re noen endring av sikkerhetsniv\u00e5et. Dessverre vil Tesla-kunder med helt nye biler inntil videre verken f\u00e5 tilgang til parkeringsalarm, selvparkering eller tilkallingsfunksjoner (summon). Dette vil bli komplettert i senere programvare-oppdateringer.<\/p>\n<p>Musk hevder at det kamerabaserte systemet, <em>Tesla Vision<\/em>, vil v\u00e6re langt rimeligere enn laser- og radarbaserte systemer &#8211; og gj\u00f8re bilene billigere for folk flest. Han sp\u00e5r at LIDAR vil tape mot <em>Tesla Vision<\/em> og nevner flere \u00e5rsaker. Blant annet vil kamerabaserte systemer gi bedre n\u00f8yaktighet, for eksempel kunne skille mellom en plastikkpose og en hump i veien, og lettere se hvilken vei objektet beveger seg. Videre vil kamerabaserte systemer v\u00e6re mer presise og dynamiske enn LIDAR som blant annet baserer seg p\u00e5 statiske kartdata. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Umotiverte br\u00e5stopp<\/h3>\n<p>I flere fora diskuteres det n\u00e5 om nye Teslaer er like sikre som tidligere. Det meldes om at flere biler uten sensorer har utf\u00f8rt umotiverte br\u00e5stopp &#8211; s\u00e5kalte fantomoppbremsinger. Tettheten i signalstr\u00f8mmen gj\u00f8r det mulig \u00e5 tegne <em>konturene<\/em> av hvert objekt, men gir lite informasjon om hva som befinner seg innenfor konturene. LIDARs styrke er at det gir sikre avstandsm\u00e5l og st\u00f8rrelse p\u00e5 objektene &#8211; og kan med h\u00f8y grad av sikkerhet si om man er p\u00e5 kollisjonskurs med noe. RADAR f\u00f8lger samme prinsipp som LIDAR, men sender <em>radiosignaler<\/em> i stedet for laser. Radiosignalene kan n\u00e5 over st\u00f8rre avstander, men gir et mindre n\u00f8yaktig bilde av objektene.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Tesla Vision<\/h3>\n<p>Visjonsbaserte systemer baserer seg p\u00e5 todimensjonale bilder av det samme som vi ser med egne \u00f8yne, faktisk <em>bedre<\/em> enn det menneskelige \u00f8ye kan, blant annet under d\u00e5rlige lysforhold. Ulempen er at l\u00f8sningen ikke gir noen eksakte avstandsm\u00e5l. Det stiller h\u00f8ye krav til programvare og datakraft. Bildeprosessering er krevende, og man kan risikere at prosesseringen tar uforholdsmessig lang tid n\u00e5r det skjer mange, raske og store endringer samtidig, &#8211; noe som er p\u00e5regnelig under kritiske situasjoner &#8211; n\u00e5r det gjelder som mest. <\/p>\n<p>Et s\u00e5nt tilfelle er n\u00e5r noen g\u00e5r ut i veien like etter at man har vrengt bilen inn i en sidegate. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Da bommet alle<\/h3>\n<p>I 2019 testet AAA i USA flere bilmodeller som alle feilet i denne situasjonen. De lot en dukke krysse veien akkurat idet testbilen svingte rundt gatehj\u00f8rnet. Ingen av bilene i testen var programmert for \u00e5 h\u00e5ndtere denne situasjonen. Bilprodusentene prioriterer forst\u00e5elig nok samme tester som Euro NCAP og IIHS fordi det er <em>de<\/em> som bed\u00f8mmer bilmodellenes sikkerhetsniv\u00e5. Euro NCAP tester ulike scenarier med p\u00e5kj\u00f8rsler bakfra mellom <em>kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yer<\/em>. <em>The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety<\/em> (IIHS) dekker flere scenarier enn Euro NCAP, blant annet venstre sving mot kryssende trafikk og hendelser mellom bil og fotgjengere. Testene de gjorde i 2019 var av samme type som IIHS utf\u00f8rer, men ikke helt identiske. De viser at bilene ikke er (var) like sikre som resultatene i Euro NCAP og IIHS indikerer. AAA testene omfattet f\u00f8lgende:<\/p>\n<p>Barn som smetter ut mellom to gateparkerte biler mens bilen kj\u00f8rer i 32 km\/t. 90% feilet.<\/p>\n<p>Barn som krysser veien samtidig som bil svinger rundt et gatehj\u00f8rne i 32 km\/t. 100% feilet.<\/p>\n<p>To fotgjengere g\u00e5r ved siden av hverandre mens bil kommer bakfra i 32 km\/t. 80% feilet. Samme test ga enda verre resultater i m\u00f8rket.<\/p>\n<p>I 2019 gjorde Tesla Model 3 gjorde det verken bedre eller d\u00e5rligere enn de andre modellene. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Begge deler?<\/h3>\n<p>Problemet med <em>Tesla Vision<\/em> er at systemet skal tolke 2-dimensionale bilder til 3D. Det blir ofte galt, som for eksempel da jeg nylig kj\u00f8rte p\u00e5 en klasse B motorvei hvor den hvite kantstripen hadde en tynn stripe p\u00e5 yttersiden &#8211; kanskje etter en feilmarkering. Teslaen tolket dette som en h\u00f8y kant og markerte det p\u00e5 skjermen. Hver gang jeg n\u00e6rmet meg kantlinjen i 100 km\/t skrek kollisjonsvarsleren. LIDAR ville forst\u00e5tt at dette ikke var noen fysisk hindring. LIDAR kan p\u00e5 sin side, alarmere f\u00f8reren n\u00e5r det bl\u00e5ser l\u00f8v eller lett plast over veien. <em>Tesla Vision<\/em> st\u00f8ttet med LIDAR ville v\u00e6rt en ideell l\u00f8sning &#8211; i hvert fall p\u00e5 dyrere Tesla-modeller. Overlat det til proffene. Jeg skal likevel innr\u00f8mme at jeg har sett n\u00f8dstopp et par ganger i forbindelse med gangfelt hvor det er tett avstand mellom fotgjengere og biler. Situasjonene har oppst\u00e5tt n\u00e5r jeg har g\u00e5tt radig mot gangfeltet med hunder og stanset for \u00e5 la bilene kj\u00f8re over f\u00f8rst &#8211; begge ganger med blikkontakt til de bak rattet. Om det er min radige gange eller hundenes bevegelser vet jeg ikke, men bilene valgte i alle fall \u00e5 overstyre sj\u00e5f\u00f8rene s\u00e5nn at de som satt i bilene ble hengende forskrekket i selene. Et spesielt trekk med n\u00f8dstopp, er at hjulene ikke l\u00e5ses etter br\u00e5stoppen f\u00f8r sj\u00e5f\u00f8ren setter foten p\u00e5 bremsen. I forskrekkelsen tar det gjerne et par sekunder. Volvo besto alle testene, men dultet borti fotgjengerne ved to tilfeller.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hyundai Kona (LIDAR)<\/strong><br \/>\nResultatene for 2019 og 2022 er nesten identiske. Hyundai besto tester utf\u00f8rt i lav fart (20 kmt). Ved 40 kmt greidde ikke bilen \u00e5 bremse tilstrekkelig ned og traff ofrene i 11 kmt. Ved voksen fotgjenger parallelt i samme kj\u00f8refelt bremset biien ned fra 60 kmt til 37 kmt f\u00f8r den kj\u00f8rte inn i offeret. I tester som dette, f\u00e5r bilene poeng for at de oppdager fotgjengeren og greier \u00e5 redusere hastigheten.
