Grunnen var f\u00e5 restriksjoner p\u00e5 salg av biler produsert i \u00d8steuropa i motsetning til biler fra Vesteuropa.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Havnet under kommunistisk ledelse<\/h3>\n<p>Skoda er et bilmerke med stolte tradisjoner og som feiret sitt 100 \u00e5rs jubileum som bilprodusent i 2005. Som for de fleste bilfabrikkene som startet opp p\u00e5 begynnelsen av 1900 tallet gikk det sm\u00e5tt, men produksjonen \u00f8ket fordi man kj\u00f8pte opp andre bilfabrikker. P\u00e5 slutten av 1920 tallet var Skoda blitt en kjent og veletablert bilprodusent i sitt hjemland. Men med et lite hjemmemarked og begrenset eksport ble tallet p\u00e5 produserte biler ikke s\u00e6rlig stort. Etter at kommunistene overtok makten i Tsjekkoslovakia i 1948 ble bilproduksjonen styrt av myndighetene i landet. Bilmodellene ble modernisert for \u00e5 kunne konkurrere p\u00e5 de store bilmarkedene.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">MB-serien tar form<\/h3>\n<p>I 1964 introduserte Skoda en helt ny modell med hekkmotor. Det var nok den store suksessen til Volkswagen som p\u00e5virket utviklingen av denne modellen. Betegnelsen p\u00e5 den nye modellen ble Skoda MB 1000 som startet sitt liv med 40 hester i motorrommet. Kj\u00f8reegenskapene var ikke helt bra, mest p\u00e5 grunn av bakakselkonstruksjonen. Den tunge motoren i hekken gjorde ikke situasjonen bedre. Fordelene var en stor og romslig kupe med 4 d\u00f8rer. Flere hester ble puttet inn i motoren i 1968 samtidig som volumet ble \u00f8ket til 1107 ccm. Modellene fikk nye betegnelser som Skoda 105, Skoda 120 og Skoda 125 i 1976. De nye modellene var basert p\u00e5 de foreg\u00e5ende modellene men med en rekke forbedringer. Radiatoren ble plassert i fronten for bedre kj\u00f8ling. Bensintanken ble flyttet og plassert under baksetet for \u00e5 bedre sikkerheten. Viktigst var nok at karosseriet hadde f\u00e5tt endret design slik at bilen \u201dmistet\u201d noe av sitt p\u00e5fallende hekkmotordesign. N\u00e5 var ogs\u00e5 skivebremser p\u00e5 forhjulene standard. Kj\u00f8reegenskapene ble forbedret i 1985 da bakhjulene fikk nytt hjuloppheng.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Slutten p\u00e5 hekkmotorene<\/h3>\n<p>Fra 1989 ble modellutvalget forenklet og de siste bilene ble produsert i januar 1990.
