For den prisen viser Ford-forhandlerne gladelig frem Mustang Mach-E som akkurat n\u00e5 ligger p\u00e5 6. plass i omsetningsstatistikken over nye biler. Men la det v\u00e6re sagt &#8211; Kuga 2.5 ladbar hybrid ST-Line er mye bil for pengene &#8211; og den byr p\u00e5 kj\u00f8reglede.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Selges kun som hybrid i Norge<\/h3>\n<p>Hybridl\u00f8sningen best\u00e5r av en tverrstilt firesylindret 2.5-liters Duratec bensinmotor og elmotor plassert foran. Batteripakken er p\u00e5 14,4 kwh og ligger under bagasjerommet bak. Bensinmotoren er ikke helt ny &#8211; den ble utviklet av Mazda og satt i produksjon i 2008. Ford bruker betegnelsen iVCT (<em>Intake Variable Camshaft Timing<\/em>). Det er en l\u00f8sning som holder innsugningsventilene \u00e5pne ogs\u00e5 under deler av kompresjonstakten, noe som gir redusert effektiv slaglengde for innsuget. Prinsippet er kjent som <em>Atkinson Cycle<\/em>. Det bidrar i f\u00f8rste rekke til \u00e5 redusere forbruk men motoren taper ogs\u00e5 &laquo;punch&raquo;. Dette kompenseres ved hjelp av elmotoren. Toyota benytter samme konsept i sine hybrider.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Fungerer fint i praksis<\/h3>\n<p>Drivverket skifter s\u00f8ml\u00f8st mellom elmotor og bensinmotor. Jeg likte snerringen fra den store motoren ved gassp\u00e5drag. Hvis du gir p\u00e5 skikkelig, kan du h\u00f8re at CVT-kassa skifter som p\u00e5 en superbil &#8211; helt supert n\u00e5r man kommer kj\u00f8rende i stilleg\u00e5ende elmodus og drar p\u00e5 for \u00e5 smette inn i hurtigg\u00e5ende trafikk. I f\u00f8lge Ford er det programmert inn &laquo;virtuelle&raquo; girskift for \u00e5 gi f\u00f8lelsen av \u00e5 kj\u00f8re automat som <em>skifter<\/em> &#8211; noe trinnl\u00f8se CVT girkasser normalt ikke gj\u00f8r.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">S\u00f8stermodell til Ford Escape<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg m\u00e5 innr\u00f8mme at Kuga ikke er en bil jeg vanligvis snur meg etter. Kuga er den europeiske varianten av Ford Escape. I USA er det en liten SUV for husm\u00f8dre. I Norge er det en ordentlig SUV. Jeg har g\u00e5tt alle Kuga-modellene etter i s\u00f8mmene. I mine \u00f8yne har de noe feminint over seg &#8211; en tekkelig SUV som ikke skal skremme det svake kj\u00f8nn. Dagens Kuga ser ut som en forvokst utgave av sm\u00e5bilen Puma &#8211; ogs\u00e5 det en damebil. N\u00e5r jeg studerer &laquo;v\u00e5r&raquo; Kuga n\u00e6rmere, ser jeg at ST-Line gir det lille som er n\u00f8dvendig for \u00e5 &laquo;t\u00f8ffe opp&raquo; bilen. Plassforholdene i den 4,61 meter lange bilen oppleves som rommelig for 5 personer. Man sitter ganske h\u00f8yreist, lengden i kupeen blir godt utnyttet. Jeg noterte meg at jeg kunne se ned p\u00e5 de som kj\u00f8rte Audi e-tron. Bagasjerommet i Kuga er p\u00e5 411 &#8211; 554 liter avhengig av innstillingen p\u00e5 baksetet. Det er omtrent p\u00e5 h\u00f8yde med Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (463 liter) og Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (580 liter). Kuga Hybrid kan ogs\u00e5 trekke henger p\u00e5 opptil 1500 kg. <\/p>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">P\u00e5 veien<\/h3>\n<p>ST-Line er utstyrt med et understell som skal v\u00e6re mer  sportslig avstemt enn de andre variantene. Jeg vet ikke hvordan de \u00f8vrige variantene kj\u00f8rer, men understellet p\u00e5 &laquo;v\u00e5r&raquo; bil var helt topp. Jeg vil ogs\u00e5 fremheve styringen &#8211; passe stram og god styref\u00f8lelse. Setene med elektrisk, trinnl\u00f8s innstilling virket ganske enkle ved f\u00f8rste \u00f8yekast, men ga god sittekomfort i de 140 kilometre vi tilbakela i dem. Innvendig st\u00f8yniv\u00e5 var helt supert. 17 tommers piggfrie vinterhjul med mye gummi mot veibanen ga lite st\u00f8y. Ingen av dem kan leveres med firehjulstrekk. Toyota RAV4 hybrid har til sammenligning to elmotorer, &#8211; \u00e9n foran til \u00e5 st\u00f8tte bensinmotoren og \u00e9n bak for \u00e5 koble inn bakhjulene ved behov. Ford Kuga er bygget som en SUV som godt kan takle den siste veistubben opp til hytta. Gjennomsnittsforbruket ble m\u00e5lt til 0,46 liter\/10 km. Vi hadde da startet med tomt batteri, kj\u00f8rt 14 mil avbrutt av en lunsjpause p\u00e5 Vik Skysstasjon &#8211; lenge nok til at motoren var blitt kald. Selv om batteriet var tomt, koblet elmotoren seg inn som den skulle. Jeg opplevde aldri at motoren surret p\u00e5 steder hvor elmotoren skulle ha v\u00e6rt aktiv. Batteriene lades svakt n\u00e5r man slipper opp gassen. Ved \u00e5 trykke inn &laquo;L&raquo; knappen p\u00e5 girvelgeren f\u00e5r man en ekstra regenerativ brems. Den er fin \u00e5 bruke som en &laquo;retarder&raquo; n\u00e5r man skal bremse svakt i nedoverbakke inn mot en sving eller kryss eller lignende. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Lading og rekkevidde<\/h3>\n<p>Ladbare hybridbiler som dette, tar ikke hurtiglading og  skal ikke lades langs veien. Ombordladeren er 7 Kw. Med Type2-kabel lades batteriene fullt p\u00e5 3 &#8211; 3,5 timer. Fra 16A str\u00f8mkontakt tar det 6 &#8211; 6,5 timer \u00e5 lade fullt. Lademuligheten er beregnet for lading hjemme &#8211; og\/eller p\u00e5 jobben. Fulladet er rekkevidden oppgitt til 64 km i henhold til WLTP kombinert. Vi fikk ikke testet rekkevidde i eldrift, men ut fra egne erfaringer pleier \u00f8vre grense i praksis \u00e5 ligge cirka 4\/5 av oppgitt rekkevidde under gunstige forhold &#8211; det vil si i overkant av 50 km. I den opprinnelige testen av 2020-modellen kom bilen gjennom alle tester &laquo;p\u00e5 gr\u00f8nt&raquo;. Ved test av 2021-modellen ga sidekrasjen moderate skader. Da hadde hodet til testdukken p\u00e5 f\u00f8rerplassen havnet litt for langt ned p\u00e5 sidekollisjonsputen. Ford Kuga overrasket meg p\u00e5 akkurat det punktet. Jeg har sammenlignet Ford Kuga og Toyota RAV4 p\u00e5 et par punkter. Om noen hadde stilt opp en Kuga og en RAV4 foran meg og bedt meg kj\u00f8re til Trondheim, ville jeg tatt Kuga&#8217;en. Hybridl\u00f8sningen fungerer fint og gj\u00f8r at man sjelden beh\u00f8ver \u00e5 bes\u00f8ke en bensinstasjon.
