Toyota Auris Hybrid er en bil hele verden har trykket til sitt bryst, enten den heter Auris, Corolla eller Scion. Den metalliske lyden jeg fikk n\u00e5r jeg tok i d\u00f8rh\u00e5ndtaket, fikk meg til \u00e5 stanse opp. Har Toyotas lydteknikere sovet i timen? Neida. D\u00f8ren gikk igjen med et &laquo;poff&raquo; som den skulle.<\/p>\n<p>Inne i kupeen fikk jeg litt retrof\u00f8lelse. Spesielt de dype klokkene, ventilasjonsdysene og m\u00e5ten den midtre delen av dashbordet var forbundet med f\u00f8rerplassen. Noen av knappene ligner de vi finner i v\u00e5r gamle ungdomsbil (Civic). Jeg stanser opp ved knapper som ser ut til \u00e5 v\u00e6re spredt tilfeldig ut over dashbordet p\u00e5 begge sider av rattet. Knappene p\u00e5 h\u00f8yre side av rattet er s\u00e6rdeles uelegant montert sammen med blindpaneler. Jeg liker den store fargeskjermen og oppdager at den har navigasjon, ryggekamera og grafisk visning av hvordan motorkraften fordeles. Jeg liker ogs\u00e5 den lille skjermen mellom instrumentklokkene.<\/p>\n<p>Dashbordet krever tilvenning. Det gj\u00f8r ogs\u00e5 alle funksjonene som sitter p\u00e5 stilkene ved rattet. Den lille automatgir-velgeren har RND med P p\u00e5 egen knapp, lik BMWs l\u00f8sning. EV for full elektrisitet, Eco og PWR. Normalprogrammet starter alltid med eldrift. Men dette er ingen elbil. Da jeg pr\u00f8vde \u00e5 se hvor lenge den kunne g\u00e5 p\u00e5 ren elkraft, kom jeg bare en og en halv runde i Forneburingen. Da fikk jeg melding om at det ikke var mer elkraft og bensinmotoren ble koplet inn. Jeg konstaterer at bilens normalprogram allerede er temmelig Eco. Da jeg satte bilen i Eco-modus fikk jeg f\u00f8lelsen av \u00e5 kj\u00f8re en h\u00e5pl\u00f8st undermotorisert bil &#8211; totalt uinspirerende. I andre biler med \u00f8komodus, f\u00e5r jeg f\u00f8lelsen av at elektronikken f\u00f8lger med og hjelper til n\u00e5r det \u00e5penbart beh\u00f8ves, for eksempel ved bakkestart.<\/p>\n<p>PWR (Power) var morsommere. Da fikk den 99 hesters bensinmotoren mer st\u00f8tte fra el-motoren. Det boostet f\u00f8rst og fremst opp dreiemomentet og ga mye bedre respons p\u00e5 gassen. Da ble bilen langt mer underholdende \u00e5 kj\u00f8re. Jeg likte lydbildet godt, &#8211; og syntes CVT-girkassa fungerte bedre. Lydbilde og skiftm\u00f8nster ga meg en f\u00f8lelse av \u00e5 kj\u00f8re amerikansk kompaktbil med V6 og konvensjonell automat. Men CVT-kassa skaper un\u00f8dvendig h\u00f8yt turtall.<\/p>\n<p>Bilen virket ganske fast, og krenget lite i svingene til tross for vekten fra batteriene under baksetet. Jeg fikk inntrykk av god vektfordeling. Jeg fikk f\u00f8lelsen at tyngdepunktet l\u00e5 midt i bilen.<\/p>\n<p>Styringen er speed-sensitiv og veldig lett ved parkering.<\/p>\n<p>Jeg gir en firer for kj\u00f8reglede. Jeg gir pluss for visning av fartsgrense og fotoboks-varsling. Det bidrar ogs\u00e5 til gode innbyttepriser.<\/p>\n<p>Det som taler i mot n\u00e5r det gjelder verditap, er at nye Prius har f\u00e5tt en sprekere og mer \u00f8konomisk 1,8 liters bensinmotor. Denne vil ventelig finne veien til nye Auriser ogs\u00e5 etter hvert. Jeg legger ogs\u00e5 til at biler og motorer som leveres til Norge, er produsert i Storbritannia. Selv om Toyotas garantier er gode, vet alle at britisk produksjon aldri ble noen suksess for hverken Nissan Primera eller Honda Civic. Og ble egentlig britiskproduserte Avensis den suksessen man hadde tenkt seg?<\/p>\n<p>Jeg har ikke satt opp drivstofforbruk, men kan konkludere med at en tank rekker sv\u00e6rt langt.
