Fabrikken ble det \u00e5ret valgt som leverand\u00f8r av biler til det engelske hoffet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Endte hos Jaguar<\/h3>\n<p>Daimler i England hadde i starten tett teknisk samarbeid med Daimler i Tyskland. Samarbeidet startet i 1888 og utviklet seg videre. Frederick Simms i engelske Daimler kj\u00f8pte patentrettighetene for England fra tyske Daimler i 1890. Daimler utviklet b\u00e5de b\u00e5t- og bilmotorer basert p\u00e5 disse patentene. Resultatet var den f\u00f8rste helt engelsk utviklede Daimler i 1897. Fabrikken ble fra starten mest kjent for sine store, solide og tunge luksusbiler. Bilene ble stort sett solgt hjemme i England. Etter 1945 ble modellutvalget nok en gang rettet mot luksusmarkedet og bilmodeller med et lite snev av \u201dsportsbil\u201d. Sportsmodellen SP250 med glassfiber karosseri var et hederlig fors\u00f8k, men prisen ble for h\u00f8y. Daimler ble solgt til Jaguar i 1960 som solgte det videre i 1984. Jaguar lanserte flere Daimler modeller som luksusversjoner av Jaguarmodeller.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Daimler Double Six<\/h3>\n<p>I 1972 gjenopplivet Daimler en av sine mest ber\u00f8mte modellnavn, \u201dDouble Six\u201d. Modellen var basert p\u00e5 Jaguar XJ-V12 og som Daimler modell skulle den innta luksustoppen blant prestisjemodeller p\u00e5 markedet. For \u00e5 understreke dette lanserte Daimler i 1972 \u201dDouble-Six Vanden Plas\u201d . Her var det bedre innvendig plass takket v\u00e6re en \u00f8ket akselavstand med 10 cm. I tillegg ble den levert med svart vinyltak for \u00e5 skille den fra fabrikkens \u00f8vrige modeller. I tillegg kom det en 2 d\u00f8rs versjon som var i produksjon mellom 1975 og 1977. Jaguar pr\u00f8vde p\u00e5 nytt \u00e5 markedsf\u00f8re Daimler med en ny og st\u00f8rre motor mellom 1993 og 1994 uten noe suksess. Bilmerkets lange historie som luksusbil av ypperste klasse var ikke nok til \u00e5 lokke kunder til forhandlerne.<\/p>\n<p>Slutten for bilmerket Daimler kom i 2007 da Ford, som da eide bilmerket,
