Det m\u00e5 v\u00e6re flere ti\u00e5r siden jeg sist s\u00e5 en Hillman Hunter &#8211; modellen som for lengst ville v\u00e6rt glemt og begravet hadde det ikke v\u00e6rt for Iran.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2_first\">Flashback<\/h3>\n<p>Den vakre Hunter&#8217;n p\u00e5 Sj\u00f8flyhavna utenfor Oslo stakk seg ut blant de gr\u00e5, triste SUV&#8217;ene. I dette selskapet ville enhver r\u00f8d bil med hvitlakkerte felger stikke seg ut i positiv betydning. Jeg tror eieren ble forundret over at &laquo;en vanlig mann i gata&raquo; var s\u00e5pass fremp\u00e5.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>-&laquo;Du kjenner kanskje noen som hadde s\u00e5nn bil?&raquo;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nEn av mine studiekamerater <em>hadde<\/em> en m\u00f8rkebl\u00e5 Hillman Hunter. Da vi jobbet sammen, sto bilen hans parkert ved siden av min egen Ford Cortina mk2. De to bilene var s\u00e5 like at man kunne mistenke at formgiverne hadde tittet hverandre i kortene. Men om bilene lignet hverandre, henvendte de seg til forskjellige mennesker. Cortina&#8217;en appellerte til karer med kinnskjegg og sporty ambisjoner, mens Hillmannen ble foretrukket av onkler med strikkekofte og henteh\u00e5r. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Manglet entusiasme<\/h3>\n<p>Hunter ble utformet og satt i produksjon av Rootes i 1966. \u00c5ret etter ble de kj\u00f8pt opp av Chrysler. I ettertid vet vi jo at Chrysler ikke lyktes s\u00e6rlig godt med sine oppkj\u00f8p i Europa. Mens vi som eide Cortina mk2 skr\u00f8t uhemmet av bilene v\u00e5re, h\u00f8rte jeg lite fra eierne av Hillman Hunter. Heller ikke min studiekamerat &#8211; som for \u00f8vrig byttet inn Hunter&#8217;n i en ny Taunus like etter. Bilen p\u00e5 Sj\u00f8flyhavna er en serie 1-bil med blank grill &#8211; etter min mening, den vakreste. Da modellen gikk ut av produksjon i 1979, hadde den f\u00e5tt flere facelifts. Den seneste i 1977. I mellomtiden hadde konkurrenten Cortina kommet med to helt nye modeller &#8211; mk3 i 1970 og mk4 i 1976. Men Hunter var ingen d\u00e5rlig bil. Det var p\u00e5 alle m\u00e5ter en verdig etterkommer etter Hillman Minx og Superminx. En ny produsent hadde ogs\u00e5 dukket opp &#8211; selskapet <em>Iran National<\/em> hvor selveste Shahen av Iran hadde en finger med i spillet. Like etter at Hillman Hunter kom i produksjon, begynte Rootes \u00e5 sende biler i kasser til Iran for montering lokalt. Modellen ble kalt <em>Paykan<\/em> (iransk for &laquo;pil&raquo; &#8211; som i Rootes Arrow) og skulle etter hvert bli bilen som vanlige iranske borgere kunne kj\u00f8pe &#8211; en slags iransk Lada. P\u00e5 kort tid ble veiene fylt opp med Paykaner &#8211; drosjer, pickuper og privatbiler. <\/p>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_46002\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46002\" Khodro<\/h3>\n<p>Paykan overlevde b\u00e5de Shahen og Ayatollah Khomeiny. Fabrikken som begynte \u00e5 sette sammen Hillman Hunter, kaller seg i dag for Iran Khodro CO (khodro=bil). Selskapet produserer over 1 millioner biler i \u00e5ret, &#8211; delt 50\/50 p\u00e5 tunge kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yer og personbiler som selges i Midt-\u00d8sten og Nord-Afrika, samt gamle satellittstater av tidligere Sovjetunionen. Da Chrysler avsluttet produksjonen av Hunter i 1979, fikk den iranske fabrikken overta produksjonsutstyret for \u00e5 fortsette \u00e5 produsere modellen som en &laquo;continuation model&raquo;. Produksjonen av Paykan fortsatte helt til 2005 som personbil, og til 2015 som pickup. Etter at Peugeot overtok Chrysler&#8217;s Europeiske divisjon, overtok de ogs\u00e5 samarbeidet med iranerne. Fra 1985 fikk Paykan nye 1600-motorer fra Peugeot. Det er b\u00e5de lisensproduksjon under varemerket Peugeot, samt produksjon av egne modeller basert p\u00e5 utg\u00e5tte Peugeot-modeller. Selskapets nyeste modell, <em>IKCO Tara<\/em>, er basert p\u00e5 Peugeot 301\/Citroen Elysse. En annen, popul\u00e6r modell, <em>IKCO Dena<\/em>, er basert p\u00e5 en videreutviklet variant av Peugeot 405.
