Like klassel\u00f8s som en Vespa eller et par jeans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Billig og praktisk<\/h3>\n<p>I bil\u00e5ret 1986 konkurrerte Fiat Panda med Citroen 2CV om \u00e5 v\u00e6re den billigste bilen i prislistene her hjemme. De to modellene var utformet for \u00e5 v\u00e6re billige \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe, billige \u00e5 kj\u00f8re og enkle vedlikeholde. De skulle t\u00e5le robuste veier og kunne brukes b\u00e5de til nytte og fritid. Hvis du ser n\u00e6rmere etter, ser du at alle vinduene p\u00e5 Panda er slette &#8211; uten krumninger &#8211; og at karosseriplatene er av typen som kan formes med enkle verkt\u00f8y. Innredningen fremst\u00e5r som primitiv, spesielt i serie 1-bilene. Det er like praktisk som det er enkelt. Du kan ta det ut selv for \u00e5 rense &#8211; eller bytte hvis det skulle bli n\u00f8dvendig.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Fiat-problemene i Norge<\/h3>\n<p>Da bilen var ny og undertegnede fremdeles var ung, fristet ikke Panda&#8217;ens rette linjer og primitive interi\u00f8r s\u00e6rlig mye. P\u00e5 midten av 80-tallet fikk Fiat dessuten d\u00e5rlig rykte, &#8211; dels p\u00e5 grunn av mange feil p\u00e5 bilene &#8211; men ogs\u00e5 p\u00e5 grunn av d\u00e5rlig oppf\u00f8lgning f\u00f8r og etter Finstad-konkursen. Dessuten kunne du kj\u00f8pe en &laquo;ordentlig bil&raquo; &#8211; for eksempel en Opel Corsa 1,2 uten radio &#8211; for bare et par tusenlapper mer. Det er faktisk ganske mye klasse over de enkle linjene. Du kan svinge opp med en s\u00e5nt kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y over alt uten \u00e5 tape ansikt &#8211; akkurat som du kan i en Citroen 2CV, M\u00e9hari, Renault 4 eller Vespa. Designet sender samme positive vibrasjoner. Det handler om klassel\u00f8se biler. Eieren kan like gjerne ha en Ferrari i garasjen ogs\u00e5. Det aspektet var med under formgivningen. <em>Giorgetto Giugiaro<\/em> og <em>Aldo Mantovani<\/em> begynte \u00e5 arbeide med den nye Fiat&#8217;en allerede i 1976 gjennom sitt nystartede selskap ItalDesign. Resultatet ble vist frem p\u00e5 Gen\u00e8ve-utstillingen i 1980. Den originale Panda&#8217;en fremsto som et kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y som var billig, stilig og praktisk. En bil alle kan bruke &#8211; fattig og rik &#8211; til alle anledninger. class=\"tebh2\">Motorene<\/h3>\n<p>Men under skallet fantes fremdeles rester etter forgjengeren. Den billigste utgaven, Panda 30, ble levert med samme 2-sylindrede, luftavkj\u00f8lte motor som satt i Fiat 126, &#8211; skj\u00f8nt varianten fikk liten utbredelse utenfor Italias grenser. Motorene i de fleste norske bilene f\u00f8r 1986, var 0,9-liters OHV-motor med 4 sylindre og 45 hester. Fra 1986 fikk Panda nye FIRE-motorer med OHC. Det var to motorer &#8211; Panda 1000 med 46 HK og Panda 750 med 34 hester. Fra 1992 leverte Fiat kun motorer med elektronisk innspr\u00f8ytning, og man kunne f\u00e5 Panda med 1,1-litersmotor, 54 HK og CVT.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Produsert i 3 serier<\/h3>\n<p>Den aller f\u00f8rste serien &#8211; originalen &#8211; ble laget uten ordentlig grill. Det var bare noen slisser i metallet. Dessuten kunne man f\u00e5 bilen med ripe- og bulkefrie plastpaneler rundt det hele. Serie II kom ut som 1986-modell med en del kosmetiske endringer &#8211; bortfall av trekantvindu, ny grill og st\u00f8tfangere, nytt interi\u00f8r &#8211; samt nye FIRE-motorer. Men den st\u00f8rste endringen var at bilen fikk nytt bakhjulsoppheng og stivere karosseri. Med h\u00f8yere bakkeklaring, takgrind og ekstralys ser 4&#215;4-versjonen ganske t\u00f8ff ut. 4-hjulstrekket ble levert av Steyr-Puch. Via en spak kobler man inn bakhjulene. Dette var et direkte 4-hjulstrekk som sammen med et ekstra lavt f\u00f8rstegir ga uovertruffen fremkommelighet &#8211; som ei fjellgeit &#8211; i hvert fall sammenlignet med viskosekoblede drivverk. 4-hjulsl\u00f8sningen har vist seg \u00e5 v\u00e6re holdbar. \u00d8vrig drivverk, er basert p\u00e5 innstegsmodellene til Uno og Punto fra samme periode, med god tilgang p\u00e5 deler. Panda&#8217;ene kommer til \u00e5 rulle p\u00e5 syd-europeiske bygdeveier i mange \u00e5r fremover. Det sies at enkelte b\u00f8nder oppe i Alpene ikke vil skille seg av med sine gamle 4-hulsdrevne Panda&#8217;er for alt i verden.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Panda-spotting i Syd-Frankrike<\/h3>\n<p>Bilene i Syd-Frankrike er ikke like s\u00e5rbare for rust som i Norge. Jeg vet ikke om det er grunnen til at det fortsatt finnes flere fine, gamle Pandaer p\u00e5 veiene der, eller om det er fordi det ble solgt flere.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jeg mener at en Syd-Europeisk gate blir enda vakrere n\u00e5r det st\u00e5r en Citroen 2CV eller Renault 4 der.
