Problemet med mange andre veteranbiler, er at de egner seg bedre til utstilling enn kj\u00f8ring.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nP\u00e5 l\u00f8rdag stilte medlemmene fra Norsk Mustang Club ut sine kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yer p\u00e5 Bogstad G\u00e5rd. Man kunne vandre mellom Mustanger i flere generasjoner. Mest popul\u00e6r er forst\u00e5elig nok f\u00f8rste generasjon fra 1964-1973. Det var Mustang som gjorde at det ble skapt en ny bilklasse kalt &laquo;The Pony Car&raquo;. Mustangen ble en mal p\u00e5 hvordan en Pony Car skulle se ut: Sportslig, prisgunstig, v\u00e6re basert p\u00e5 masseproduserte deler, ha muligheter for individuell styling og et ungdommelig uttrykk.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet kan vel diskuteres om alle Mustangene har v\u00e6rt like vellykkede? I 1974, da oljekrisen var et faktum, og mange amerikanere byttet ut fullsizerne med japanske biler, &#8211; fant Ford ut at de ville lage en Mustang som kunne ta opp kampen med importbilene. Den nye Mustangen ble nedskalert b\u00e5de utvendig og motormessig. Det falt mange Mustang-fanatikere tungt for brystet at Ford dette \u00e5ret ikke kunne tilby V8. Derimot kom Mustang for f\u00f8rste gang med en 2,3 liters firesylindret Pinto-motor. Vondt ble verre.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nUansett, synes jeg Mustang II alltid har v\u00e6rt vakre biler, &#8211; bedre enn den underbitte generasjon 3 som preget \u00e5ttitallet. Jeg har for \u00f8vrig lest at \u00e5ttitallets Mustanger n\u00e5 er popul\u00e6re i USA, og her hjemme kan flere av dem registreres som veteraner.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nP\u00e5 Bogstad G\u00e5rd s\u00e5 jeg ingen Mustang II, men to Mustang generasjon 3 (Fox body) og \u00e9n Mustang generasjon 4. Derimot var det flere femte generasjons Mustang, samt en generasjon 6. Skal jeg fors\u00f8ke meg p\u00e5 en rangering av de ulike generasjonene, kommer f\u00f8rste generasjon p\u00e5 f\u00f8rste plass og femte generasjon p\u00e5 plass nummer 2. Jeg synes utviklingen av Mustang lover godt. Den nye 2,3 liters turbomotoren er ingen Pinto-motor med pusteproblemer. 300+ HK med et dreiemoment p\u00e5 320 Nm ved 3000 omdreininger.
