Det var s\u00e5 langt tilbake som i 1906 hvor flere bilinteresserte herrer satte seg ned for \u00e5 planlegge den nye bilfabrikken. I starten ble det laget biler basert p\u00e5 franske konstruksjoner men etter hvert bestemte man seg for \u00e5 gj\u00f8re alt p\u00e5 egenh\u00e5nd. Allerede i 1911 kom de f\u00f8rste egenutviklede bilene i produksjon i sm\u00e5 serier. Bilene fra den nye fabrikken fikk navnet A.L.F.A. Erfaringene fra den tidligere lisensproduksjonen av franske biler med svake motorer la grunnlaget for de nye produktene. N\u00e5 skulle det produseres biler som kunne konkurrere med andre hurtige biler. S\u00e5 tidlig som i 1913 kom en helt lukket str\u00f8mlinjeformet spesialbygget modell som vakte oppsikt i bilverdenen. i 1915 ble fabrikken overtatt av Nicolo Romeo og den byttet litt senere navn til Alfa Romeo.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Satset p\u00e5 motorsport<\/h3>\n<p>Fabrikken begynte \u00e5 delta innen motorsporten og allerede i 1920 var den f\u00f8rste seieren i havn. En av de store bilf\u00f8rerne som var med p\u00e5 fabrikklaget fra starten, var <a href=\"https:\/\/no.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Enzo_Ferrari\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enzo Ferrari<\/a>. Satsing p\u00e5 bill\u00f8p og nye sportsmodeller for landeveien ga fabrikken et godt navn blant bilinteresserte.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Behov for masseproduksjon<\/h3>\n<p>Etter at krigen var slutt i 1945 startet bilproduksjonen i begrenset omfang. I antall produserte biler var Alfa Romeo en sv\u00e6rt liten fabrikk og ledelsen skj\u00f8nte at ting m\u00e5tte endres hvis fabrikken skulle overleve.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Alfa Romeo 1900<\/h3>\n<p>Den f\u00f8rste kjappe modellen som ble masseprodusert var &laquo;1900&raquo;. For \u00e5 v\u00e6re en 4-d\u00f8rs familiebil hadde den egenskaper som la grunnlaget for en lang rekke av sportslige modeller fra fabrikken. Toppfart p\u00e5 150 kmt var sv\u00e6rt bra p\u00e5 den tiden. Modellen kom senere i nye og enda sterkere versjoner. Etter lanseringen i 1950 kom det b\u00e5de st\u00f8rre motorer og modeller med spesialkarosserier fra frittst\u00e5ende designere.
