En av de aller f\u00f8rste bilene med plastkarosseri.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Dette er en bilhistorie som startet da verden falt til ro etter at krigen sluttet i 1945. Mange s\u00e5 store muligheter i et verdensmarked som hadde behov for det aller meste i de f\u00f8rste freds\u00e5rene. Spesielt de fabrikkene som produserte biler og transportmateriell s\u00e5 for seg mange gode \u00e5r. Med dette som bakgrunn ble det etablert en rekke nye bilfabrikker i \u00e5rene 1945 &#8211; 1947.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2bigger\">Kaiser-Frazer<\/h3>\n<p>En av de nye produsentene som kom p\u00e5 banen i denne perioden var Kaiser-Frazer som i dag er historie og stort sett helt glemt av de aller fleste. Men historien er spennende og omfatter alt fra store dr\u00f8mmer og ambisjoner til en lang kamp for \u00e5 overleve. La oss starte med personene som startet det hele. Bilmannen Joseph Frazer hadde lang erfaring fra bilproduksjon. Han kjente bilindustrien fra innsiden og hadde v\u00e6rt med p\u00e5 utvikling av mange kjente bilmodeller for en rekke produsenter. Da USA kom med i krigen i 1942, var han sjef for bilprodusenten Graham-Paige som i 1939 hadde presentert den fremtidsrettede modellen &laquo;Hollywood&raquo;.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nHenry J. Kaiser var en industrimann med bred erfaring fra produksjon og industriutvikling. Under krigen stod skipsverftene hans delvis bak utviklingen og produksjonen av de velkjente &laquo;Liberty&raquo; skipene.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI 1945 besluttet disse to \u00e5 starte bilproduksjon i stor skala. Planen var i utgangspunktet \u00e5 produsere 2 forskjellige bilmerker. Kaiser skulle bli en litt rimelig familiebil for det store markedet. Frazer derimot var planlagt som et bilmerke med mer vekt p\u00e5 luksus. Allerede i 1945 ble det hos Kaiser tatt frem en prototype p\u00e5 en rimelig bil utstyrt med plastkarosseri og forhjulsdrift. Ambisjonene var store og den store flyfabrikken &laquo;Willow Run&raquo; ble overtatt for \u00e5 forvandles til en virkelig kjempestor bilfabrikk.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDa fabrikken startet introduksjonen av 1947 modellene, var bilmerkene Kaiser og Frazer ganske like \u00e5 se p\u00e5 men forskjellen l\u00e5 p\u00e5 det tekniske. Kaiser skulle lanseres som en moderne forhjulsdrevet modell mens Frazer ble en mer tradisjonell luksusmodell med bakhjulsdrift. Men planene ble endret rett f\u00f8r den f\u00f8rste bilen skulle trille av samleb\u00e5ndet. Den forhjulsdrevne Kaiser modellen ble stoppet p\u00e5 grunn av tekniske vansker og h\u00f8y produksjonspris og den ble derfor bare en rimeligere versjon av Frazer.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSpesielt Kaiser solgte bra fordi den var en av de f\u00f8rste bilmodellene som kom p\u00e5 markedet etter krigen. Ny spennende design og lekre farger falt i smak hos bilkj\u00f8perne. Kaiser og Frazer delte karosseridesign helt frem til 1951 som var introduksjons\u00e5ret for den helt nye og moderne modellen fra Kaiser. Men salget fortsatte \u00e5 stupe selv med en ny billigmodell (Henty J) og produksjon i flere land. Kaiser fors\u00f8kte \u00e5 selge fabrikken men forgjeves. Da produksjonen i USA tok slutt etter at ca 750 000 biler var produsert, ble karosseripresser og utstyr overf\u00f8rt til Argentina. Her ble Kaiser modeller produsert frem til 1962 av IKA som ogs\u00e5 produserte Renault og Alfa-Romeo p\u00e5 lisens. I USA konsentrerte Kaiser seg n\u00e5 om de store aluminiumsverkene sine og arbeidet for at aluminium skulle brukes mer i bilindustrien. I den forbindelsen ble det tatt frem flere futuristiske designforslag for \u00e5 p\u00e5virke bilindustrien. Men det ble med dette siste fors\u00f8ket og resten er historie.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nKaiser var virkelig et bilmerke som kunne f\u00e5tt plass p\u00e5 markedet slik den gode starten indikerte.
