Den viktigste grunnen var pris og tilgjengelighet.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h5>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Samarbeid med Ford<\/h3>\n<p>Produksjonen av biler i Sovjet startet for alvor i 1929 da ledelsen i Sovjetunionen gjorde en samarbeidsavtale med Ford. Denne avtalen \u00e5pnet mulighetene for delekj\u00f8p og teknisk assistanse fra Ford i en startfase. De f\u00f8rste bilene var basert p\u00e5 Ford modell &laquo;A&raquo; b\u00e5de som personbil og som lastebil. I starten ble bilene produsert under merke NAZ men dette ble endret til GAZ etter kort tid. Den f\u00f8rste modellen ble erstattet av en ny personbilmodell i 1936 basert p\u00e5 Ford modell &laquo;B&raquo;. Fabrikken i Sovjet gjorde store endringer i forhold til den amerikanske konstruksjonen. Fj\u00e6ring og design ble endret og forbedret. Samarbeidet med Ford hadde tilf\u00f8rt den Sovjetiske bilfabrikken s\u00e5 mye erfaring og kompetanse at den i 1942 kunne presentere en egenutviklet bilmodell som kom i produksjon i 1942. Under krigen var arbeidet i gang med \u00e5 utvikle nye modeller. Den nye modellen ble lansert i 1946 som GAZ M20 Pobeda.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">GAZ M20 Pobeda<\/h3>\n<p>Den nye modellen var helt p\u00e5 h\u00f8yden med biler produsert i Europa og USA da den kom p\u00e5 markedet i 1946. Europeiske og amerikanske bilmodeller var i stor grad oppdaterte 1940 modeller. I Europa var det bare England som kom i gang med normal bilproduksjon i 1946 mens Tyskland slet med krigsskader og deling av landet. Andre land slet med en h\u00e5pl\u00f8s valutasituasjon og mangel p\u00e5 r\u00e5varer. Pobeda fikk et godt fotfeste i Norge takket v\u00e6re byttehandel med varer og egne kj\u00f8petillatelser som gjorde det mye lettere \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe biler fra \u00d8steuropa enn fra Vesteuropa og USA. Pobeda var ogs\u00e5 godt utstyrt og sv\u00e6rt solid siden var tilpasset russiske veier. Designmessig l\u00e5 den foran sine konkurrenter med et karosseri hvor forskjermene var integrert i fronten. Denne modellen s\u00e5 ganske lik under hele produksjonstiden bortsett fra endring av fronten i 1955.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nI 1958 ble den avl\u00f8st av en ny modell med betegnelsen
