Ikke bare fordi det er gammelt, sn\u00e5lt og sjelden &#8211; men fordi det er fransk til fingerspissene &#8211; om man kan si det s\u00e5nn.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h5>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<p>Jeg bor for tiden i et utkantsomr\u00e5de av Frankrike. Det er et utmerket utgangspunkt for \u00e5 studere fransk bilkunst. Jeg har sluttet \u00e5 ta bilder av Citroen 2CV og Renault 4 fordi det er s\u00e5 mange av dem. Enda flere er det av sm\u00e5 varebiler som Citroen Visa-baserte C15 og R5-baserte Renault Express. Av og til kommer jeg over noe som er super-fransk. Ikke bare fordi det er gammelt, sn\u00e5lt og sjelden &#8211; men fordi det er fransk til fingerspissene &#8211; om man kan si det s\u00e5nn.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Panhard er et s\u00e5nt merke<\/h3>\n<p>Det har eksistert fra de f\u00f8rste bilene i verden ble bygget. Etter krigen bygget de biler i ren aluminium. Det ble dyrt. S\u00e5 dyrt at selskapet ble tatt over av datidens Citroen. Det var en tid da franskmenn flest kj\u00f8rte rundt i biler som Renault 4CV, Dauphine, Simca Aronde og Volkswagen 1200, for \u00e5 nevne noen. Panhard stilte i en egen klasse. Den var registert for 6 personer og kunne visuelt m\u00e5le seg mot Peugeot 403, Citroen ID\/DS eller Simca Vedette. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Men Panhard var annerledes<\/h3>\n<p>Hele karosseriet er i aluminium. St\u00f8tfangere og pyntelister ser ut som matt chrome. Men det er ikke chrome &#8211; det er ubehandlet aluminium(!). For komme til motorrommet \u00e5pner man hele fronten som best\u00e5r av ett stykke aluminium. Interi\u00f8ret er stilrent og oser komfort. <em>Relmax S<\/em> har ekte skinnseter som ligner de som sitter i Citroen DS. Det blanke er ubehandlet aluminium.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Spesielle motorer<\/h3>\n<p>Det er kanskje her det spesielt franske kommer inn i bildet. N\u00e5r du l\u00f8fter opp fronten p\u00e5 bilen, kommer et frontskjold til syne. Ingen radiator. Jeg har dessverre ingen gode bilder av dette, men studerer man motoren n\u00e6rmere, ser man at det er en luftavkj\u00f8lt, 2-sylindret motor med sylindrene liggende flatt mot hverandre &#8211; omtrent som i Citroen 2CV. Motoren fremst\u00e5r som temmelig &laquo;pinglete&raquo; for en s\u00e5 stor bil! Et lydbilde som en knatrende &#8211; eller smatrende 2CV, passer heller d\u00e5rlig i en bil som dette. Og hvor kommer luften inn? Ingen av PL17-modellene har noen synlig grill i fronten.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Fungerte overraskende bra<\/h3>\n<p>Den lille motoren er en 850 ccm som gir 50 HK p\u00e5 standardutgaven og 60 HK for <em>Tigre<\/em>. Med tanke p\u00e5 bilens lette vekt, er ytelsene slett ikke d\u00e5rlige for sin tid. En standard PL17 veier bare 845 kg. Motorene m\u00e5tte ha turtall for \u00e5 g\u00e5, og de var turtallsvillige. Vel er det 2CV-lyd inne i motorrommet, men motorene var mye bedre dempet gjennom eksosen enn i 2CV&#8217;ene. Fra utsiden ble lydbildet t\u00f8ffere &#8211; nesten som i en sportsbil. Panhard er kjent for sin gode komfort. Fj\u00e6ringen var basert p\u00e5 bladfj\u00e6rer foran (2 tverrstilte) og torsjonsstenger bak. Sejerstedt B\u00f8dtger hadde nemlig agentur p\u00e5 Panhard i Norge gjennom sitt selskap DNA (Det norske Automobilkonsern). F\u00f8r krigen ble Panhard tatt inn til Norge gjennom Bertel O Steen. Hvorfor Panhard aldri fikk fotfeste i Norge gjenst\u00e5r som en g\u00e5te. Ble den for fransk? Eller kan det skyldes mangel p\u00e5 vinteregenskaper?
