De er morsomme \u00e5 kj\u00f8re &#8211; responsive, kraftfulle turbomotorer med fint lydbilde. Et godt eksempel p\u00e5 downsizing. Men de er ikke feilfrie. Advarslene er mange. Er det trygt \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe en bil med TSI-motor?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h5>&nbsp;<\/h5>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Hvilke motorer dreier det seg om?<\/h3>\n<p>Nesten alle bensinmotorer produsert av Volkswagen-gruppen mellom 2009 og 2016 er ber\u00f8rt, n\u00e6rmere bestemt motortype EA111 med registerkjede. Volumselgerne kan omfatte f\u00f8lgende motorer:<br \/>\n&#8211; 1,2 TSI med 85, 90, 105 eller 110 HK<br \/>\n&#8211; 1,4 TSI med 122, 140 eller 170 HK<br \/>\n&#8211; 1,8 TSI med 120 eller 160 HK<br \/>\n&#8211; I tillegg kommer tilsvarende motorer til Audi, Seat og Skoda. Audi kaller TSI-motorene for TFSI. Et raskt s\u00f8k p\u00e5 <a href=\"https:\/\/finn.no\"><strong>Finn.no<\/strong><\/a> ansl\u00e5r at det for tiden er 752 biler som kan v\u00e6re utstyrt med angjeldende TSI-motorer. Da har vi ikke regnet med 1,4 og 1,5 TSI 150 HK som har registerreim &#8211; alts\u00e5 <em>reim<\/em>, ikke kjede. <\/p>\n<p>*) <a href=\"#cc1\"><strong>Se eksempler p\u00e5 ber\u00f8rte modeller og produksjons\u00e5r<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Det er nemlig registerkjedet som er kilden til problemet.<\/h3>\n<p>Det strekker seg. Til slutt greier ikke kjedestrammeren \u00e5 stramme mer, og da kan kjedet ryke eller hoppe over noen tenner. Begge deler er fatalt for motoren. Det finnes mange historier om ulykkelige bileiere. Etter at to ansatte hos Teknikens v\u00e4rld opplevde motorras med sine TSI-modeller (1,4 og 1,2 TSI), gikk det anerkjente bilmagasinet ut med f\u00f8lgende advarsel: <a href=\"https:\/\/teknikensvarld.se\/nyheter\/konsument\/varning-kop-inte-denna-volkswagen-motor-185407\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Varning &#8211; k\u00f6p inte denna Volkswagen-motor! P\u00e5 samme tid bredte motorhavariene seg og vi fikk bekymrede meldinger fra v\u00e5re lesere. Vi <em>visste<\/em> at det var et problem med motorene, men vi kjente ikke omfanget. I dag vet vi mer. Sannheten kjenner bare Volkswagen-gruppen, &#8211; men jeg tror vi er n\u00e6r.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ble fanget opp i forhandlernettet<\/h3>\n<p>For \u00e5 spore opp omfanget av et bilrelatert problem, sjekker vi p\u00e5 Finn.no. Vi tar for oss privatsolgte biler med h\u00f8yest kj\u00f8relengde. Merkeforhandlerne \u00f8nsker ikke \u00e5 reklamere med at motor er byttet p\u00e5 grunn av en produksjonsfeil. Her m\u00e5 du sp\u00f8rre. Privatpersoner, derimot, har alt \u00e5 tjene p\u00e5 \u00e5 gi alle opplysninger. Det er ingen ting som tyder p\u00e5 at motorhavarier er et stort problem for eiere av TSI-biler. Det vi kan fastsl\u00e5, er at det er skiftet mange registerkjeder. Sannsynligvis p\u00e5 garantien. Det ser derfor ut til at motorproblemene er l\u00f8st gjennom forhandlernettet. Kanskje regningene ble sendt videre til Tyskland?<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Et st\u00f8rre problem i utlandet<\/h3>\n<p>Vi har sett noe lignende tidligere. Volkswagen T5 Transporter og Caravelle med 2-liters biturbo motor p\u00e5 180 HK hadde en alvorlig produksjonsfeil som medf\u00f8rte h\u00f8yt oljeforbruk og til slutt motorbytte. <a href=\"https:\/\/terjebjornstad.com\/no\/2016\/07\/19\/t5-og-a5-med-produksjonsfeil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Vi skrev om det<\/strong><\/a> p\u00e5 Terjes biler. Lenge var Kontakt-siden v\u00e5r r\u00f8dgl\u00f8dende av engstelige bileiere &#8211; ikke bare i Norge, men ogs\u00e5 andre europeiske land, &#8211; og Australia. Da s\u00e5 vi at utenlandske bileiere med kortere garantitider ble m\u00f8tt med en kald skulder hos sine forhandlere. I Norge, derimot, fikk kundene byttet motor p\u00e5 utvidet garanti. Vi tror forhandlerne her hjemme har &laquo;ordnet opp&raquo;. P\u00e5 nettet leser vi fortsatt historier om utenlandske TSI-kunder som ble sendt hjem med beskjed om at ingen ting var galt til tross for konstant raslelyd i registeret. S\u00e5 l\u00f8per garantien ut og like etter havarerer kundenes motorer.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Kan bli kostbart uten garanti<\/h3>\n<p>Problemet med registerkjedene i TSI kan bli aktualisert p\u00e5 ny. Etter endt nybilgaranti m\u00e5 bileiere p\u00e5 annenh\u00e5nds-markedet betale selv. \u00c5 skifte registerkjede er en dagsjobb for en mekaniker. Utf\u00f8res jobben p\u00e5 et merkeverksted, kan regningen komme p\u00e5 20 000 kroner. \u00c5 kj\u00f8pe en bil med TSI beh\u00f8ver ikke v\u00e6re utrygt, men det krever at man er n\u00f8ye med \u00e5 unders\u00f8ke bilens historikk.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">V\u00e6r grundig!<\/h3>\n<p>Det er gode nyheter hvis bilens historikk omfatter skifte av registerkjede. Skj\u00f8nt vi har sett det f\u00f8r. Siden feilen skyldes d\u00e5rlig komponent-kvalitet, vil feilen komme tilbake hvis den d\u00e5rlige komponenten er byttet med en tilsvarende d\u00e5rlig komponent. En reparasjon utf\u00f8rt <em>nylig<\/em>, er derfor bedre enn en som er utf\u00f8rt for noen \u00e5r siden. En annen faktor som kan spille en rolle, er om reparasjonen er utf\u00f8rt hos merkeforhandler. Et reparasjonssett for registerkjedet inneholder i tillegg til selve kjedet, glideskinner, kjedestrammer, tannhjul til kamakselen\/-akslene &#8211; avhengig av om det er SOHC eller DOHC. N\u00e5r kjedet utvider seg, slites tannhjulene kjedet g\u00e5r i. Det gjelder ogs\u00e5 tannhjulet p\u00e5 enden av veivakselen. Det g\u00e5r rundt dobbelt s\u00e5 fort som kamhjulene og er dermed mer utsatt for slitasje. I videoen nederst p\u00e5 siden, vises dette tydelig. Tannhjulet p\u00e5 veiva er dobbeltsporet, ett for kamkjedet og ett for kjedet som driver oljepumpa. Poenget her, er at hvis man ikke skifter <em>alle<\/em> tannhjulene kjedet l\u00f8per i, risikerer man at det nye kjedet slites raskere. P\u00e5 biler med registerkjede, er ikke det uvanlig. P\u00e5 TSI-motorene er kjedestrammeren hydraulisk og avhengig av oljetrykk. Ved kaldstart vil det derfor ta 2-3 sekunder f\u00f8r det bygges opp nok trykk til at strammeren virker. Det kan h\u00f8res som en raklelyd ved oppstart (kan minne om r\u00e5debank). Dette er helt normalt, men skal forsvinne etter 2-3 sekunder. Tar det lengere tid enn dette, har kjedet strukket seg. Med tanke p\u00e5 historiene om motorhavarier blant TSI-motoren, skal man ikke ignorere dette tegnet. Da m\u00e5 kjedet byttes. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Kaldstart er gull verdt<\/h3>\n<p>Kj\u00f8per du en TSI-bil, er f\u00f8rste oppstart av vital betydning. Start gjerne med \u00e5pent panser og lytt mot h\u00f8yre side av bilen. Tell sekundene til motorlyden forandrer seg. Hvis motoren nylig har v\u00e6rt i bruk, vil det ikke v\u00e6re mulig \u00e5 fange opp denne kontrollen. Da m\u00e5 du stole p\u00e5 selgeren. V\u00e6r ogs\u00e5 oppmerksom p\u00e5 at hvis kjedet har strukket seg for langt, eller kjedestrammeren ikke virker, vil motoren rakle konstant. Det er vanskelig \u00e5 oppdage hvis du ikke kjenner bilen fra f\u00f8r. Dette er det eneste tegnet du f\u00e5r. Det er faktisk det eneste tegnet ogs\u00e5 mekanikerne f\u00e5r. Strukket kamkjede viser ikke n\u00f8dvendigvis noen feilkoder. Ignorerer du varselet, kan motoren havarere. Konsulter en mekaniker hvis du er usikker. Husk ogs\u00e5 \u00e5 skift olje senest hvert \u00e5r. Volkswagens lange service-intervaller har bare forsterket problemene.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skal vi ignorere skrekkhistoriene om motorhavarier?<\/h3>\n<p>Det sies at registerkjede aldri beh\u00f8ves \u00e5 byttes. I dag vet vi at dette ikke gjelder TSI-motorene. Men en stund kan bilverkstedene ha trodd det. Ingen fare! Bare \u00e5 kj\u00f8re! Det var vel det kapteinen p\u00e5 Titanic ogs\u00e5 tenkte? I dag er man mye mer forsiktig. Det er solgt millioner av biler med TSI-motorer, og veiene blokkeres ikke akkurat av havarerte TSI-biler. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Hva med bileiere som har byttet kjede mange ganger?<\/h3>\n<p>D\u00e5rlige komponenter i produksjonen havnet dessverre ogs\u00e5 ute p\u00e5 forhandlernes delelagre. Det finnes utallige eksempler p\u00e5 akkurat det. Hos &laquo;min&raquo; M\u00f8llerforhandler leveres reservedeler &#8211; som for eksempel byttesett for registerkjede &#8211; samme dag\/dagen etter fra et sentralt lager (Sverige?). Foruten \u00e5 spare forhandlerne fra \u00e5 holde egne lagre, er det lettere \u00e5 sikre tilf\u00f8rsel av &laquo;ferske&raquo; komponenter. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Konklusjon<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg er ikke enig i p\u00e5stander om at det er utrygt \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe TSI-motorer med registerkjede. Kj\u00f8per du bruktbil, b\u00f8r du gj\u00f8re deg kjent med modellen p\u00e5 forh\u00e5nd, for eksempel ved \u00e5 s\u00f8ke opplysninger p\u00e5 nettet. Deretter m\u00e5 du v\u00e6re n\u00f8ye med \u00e5 sjekke historikken og gj\u00f8re n\u00f8dvendige unders\u00f8kelser.
