De hadde uovertrufne egenskaper i terrenget, men ikke s\u00e6rlig egnet for landeveiskj\u00f8ring. L\u00f8sningen ble \u00e5 frakte dem p\u00e5 lastebiler.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Beltevogner p\u00e5 M6<\/h3>\n<p>Forsvaret laget en provisorisk l\u00f8sning for sine M6&#8217;er (milit\u00e6re lastebiler). Den besto av en plattform eller rampe som gjorde at man kunne f\u00e5 plass til en beltevogn. Vel, plass og plass. Egentlig var det ikke plass til mer enn en <em>halv<\/em> beltevogn p\u00e5 M6-planet. Resten &#8211; 3 meter &#8211; hang ut bak. Det var kun biler med frontmontert vinsj som hadde lov til \u00e5 frakte beltevogner &#8211; p\u00e5 grunn av at de hadde noen ekstra kilo p\u00e5 framakselen. Men det hjalp lite. Bak rattet p\u00e5 M6&#8217;en kunne man f\u00f8le at framvogna av og til l\u00f8ftet seg fra bakken. Det gjaldt \u00e5 v\u00e6re ekstra forsiktig over telehivene. \u00c5 frakte beltevogner p\u00e5 denne m\u00e5ten var selvf\u00f8lgelig ren galskap. 11 tonn tidvis uten styring kunne g\u00e5tt veldig galt. Dessuten krevde det mye arbeid og lang tid \u00e5 klargj\u00f8re M6&#8217;en for BV-transport. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Nytt fors\u00f8k<\/h3>\n<p>En ny l\u00f8sning ble utviklet av H\u00e6rens indentatur p\u00e5 L\u00f8ren. P\u00e5 ny\u00e5ret i 1979 fikk Transportkompaniet p\u00e5 Bardufoss 8 sivile lastebiler &#8211; Ford og Mercedes-Benz p\u00e5montert et p\u00e5bygg fra Centrum karosseri med aluminiums-ramper som var enkle \u00e5 rigge opp. Da kunne beltevogna v\u00e6re ferdig sikret p\u00e5 planet i l\u00f8pet av f\u00e5 minutter. Den st\u00f8rste fordelen var uten tvil sikkerheten. Etter hvert ble det forbudt \u00e5 frakte beltevogner p\u00e5 M6.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ford D-serie<\/h3>\n<p>H\u00e6ren har gjennom \u00e5rene kj\u00f8pt mange Ford D-serie og Cargo. De ble brukt til alt, bortsett fra krigf\u00f8ring. I \u00abkrigen\u00bb handlet det i stedet om doninger som GMC (&laquo;gems&raquo;) og M6 &#8211; og senere Scania &#8211; ogs\u00e5 med h\u00f8y nostalgifaktor for mange av oss. Men n\u00e5 fikk Ford D-serie ogs\u00e5 v\u00e6re med p\u00e5 milit\u00e6r\u00f8velser selv om de ikke hadde stridslys, sperrer eller gev\u00e6rfeste.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<blockquote><p>Fords D-serie hadde modellbetegnelser basert p\u00e5 totalvekt og antall hestekrefter. Den minste Forden, som kunne ta 4 tonn nyttelast, passet godt  til spesialtransporter som dette. Motoren var en rekkesekser som Ford brukte i flere av sine D-modeller samt i traktorer, skurtreskere og b\u00e5ter. Det skal ha opprinnelse fra Vestfold Bil- og Karosseris arkiver &#8211; med VBK skap.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ford D1618<\/h3>\n<p>Den st\u00f8rre Forden hadde samme spesiall\u00f8sning for frakt av beltevogner. Den s\u00e5 komisk ut med samme lille f\u00f8rerhytte som de \u00f8vrige bilene i D-serien. Innredningen som i en Ford Transit &#8211; og sto slett ikke i stil med hva du forventet i en tung lastebil. Skuffelsen over det billige f\u00f8rermilj\u00f8et ble grundig oppveid av motoren. Under f\u00f8rerhytta kunne man h\u00f8re sangen av en nydelig 8,3 liters Cummins Diesel V8 som ga 170-180 hester. Med 4-trinns girkasse h\u00f8y og lav kunne man fint holde farten i bakkene selv med beltevogn p\u00e5 planet.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ford D historikk<\/h3>\n<p>D-serien ble produsert mellom 1969 og 1981. De kom i uttallige st\u00f8rrelser &#8211; fra 5 til 28 tonns totalvekt. Oppskriften virket enkel. Man tar ei ramme, setter p\u00e5 hjul og motor som passer vektklassen. Deretter bruker man samme f\u00f8rerhytte uansett modell. I Norge var Ford popul\u00e6re distribusjonsbiler med plan, skap eller tank. I Tyskland ble D-serien solgt som N-serie. Begge modell-seriene ble produsert i England. N-serien hadde en annen front enn D-serien. Noen modeller av D-serien ble ogs\u00e5 produsert ved Fords tyrkiske fabrikk i Otosan som produserte den tyrkiske glassfiber-bilen <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anadol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Anadol<\/strong><\/a>. Hvordan var kvaliteten? Jeg kan faktisk ikke finne noe \u00e5 sette fingeren p\u00e5! Riktignok var dette nye biler. Jeg logget mellom 10-40 mil hver arbeidsdag over 6 m\u00e5neder. Det eneste negative \u00f8yeblikket var da jeg hentet bilen &#8211; en D1618 &#8211; p\u00e5 kaia s\u00f8r for Bjerkvik en bekm\u00f8rk kveld. Da fikk jeg kun inn h\u00f8ygir-serien. Og opp fra kaia var det en steinete og bratt bakke. Dagen etter vippet jeg opp f\u00f8rerhuset og s\u00e5 en vaier som ikke var festet &#8211; og voil\u00e0 &#8211; s\u00e5 var problemet l\u00f8st. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ford D-nostalgi<\/h3>\n<p>Det finnes ikke s\u00e6rlig mange Ford D-serie med skilter. Det skal v\u00e6re 5 stykk D0911 igjen som er avskiltet men ikke vraket. Av D1618 finnes det 13 biler igjen, hvorav kun \u00e9n fremdeles ser ut til \u00e5 ha skilter. Det hjelper lite at Ford var enkle og billige lastebiler for sin tid. Det koster mye penger \u00e5 restaurere en veteranlastebil. I valget p\u00e5 restaureringsobjekter blir det da lettere \u00e5 velge mer h\u00f8yverdige biler som Volvo og Scania. Ford var det ganske lite ved, egentlig. D-serien vil neppe vinne s\u00e6rlig stor popularitet som veteranbil her hjemme.
