I helgen fikk de en til.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Jeg leste en gang en artikkel i det britiske CAR Magazine om hvilke biler du m\u00e5 ha kj\u00f8rt f\u00f8r du d\u00f8r. En slags \u00abbucket list\u00bb for bilentusiaster. Jeg er ikke i tvil n\u00e5r jeg setter BMWs 3-liters rekkesekser opp p\u00e5 denne listen. Selv fikk jeg anledning til \u00e5 disponere en BMW 530d en langhelg p\u00e5 bes\u00f8k til min datter i England. Mannen bak skranken i leiebilfirmaet \u00f8ynet en mulighet for mersalg til en lojal kunde. Fet BMW med M Sport og 18 tommers felger, tenkte jeg da jeg s\u00e5 den aggressive fronten med de skarpe linjene p\u00e5 panseret og de store luftinntakene. Der og da fikk jeg assosiasjoner til klassiske britiske biler som Jaguar og Bentley.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDe el-drevne M-sportssetene ble stilt inn etter alle kunstens regler. En tidligere bruker hadde stilt inn iDrive-systemet til spansk. Slike systemer er ikke laget for folk i femti\u00e5rene. Hverken min kone eller jeg fant ut hvordan man endret spr\u00e5k. Brukergrensesnittet krevde tilvenning.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n-Vel, vel, er man p\u00e5 tur, s\u00e5 <em>er<\/em> man p\u00e5 tur, &#8211; og spansk duger fint, tenkte vi. GPS\u2019en ble innstilt til hotellet v\u00e5rt i Colchester, en liten time \u00f8st over et landlig distrikt. Fartskameraene st\u00e5r nemlig like tett som hjemme.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDa jeg startet opp rekkesekseren fikk jeg det dumme fliret rundt munnen. Et flir jeg ikke greidde \u00e5 t\u00f8rke av meg. Jeg snur meg jo automatisk etter lyden n\u00e5r jeg h\u00f8rer en BMW rekkesekser gi gass, og n\u00e5 er det meg som gir gass. P\u00e5 engelsk vil jeg betegne lyden som \u00abcreamy\u00bb.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nBMWs 5-serie (F10) begynner \u00e5 dra p\u00e5 \u00e5rene. Det er blitt mange av dem, og sv\u00e6rt mange har M Sport styling som denne. Likevel ga akkurat denne bilen meg et bedre f\u00f8rstegangsinntrykk enn vanlige 5-serier. Merkelig, for du kan ikke <em>se<\/em> p\u00e5 fronten at det er en sekser. Jeg tror det var den spesielle fargen, \u00abmoonstone metallic\u00bb jeg hadde festet meg ved. Bed og refuger langs veien var beplantet. P\u00e5skeliljene lyste gult over alt. Veiene var t\u00f8rre, men langs de smale sm\u00e5veiene mellom landsbyene kunne vi se at bekker og gr\u00f8fter var fulle av vann. Sterk kontrast til sn\u00f8-slapset vi hadde p\u00e5 veiene hjemme.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nRekkesekseren leverer 258 hestekrefter. Dreiemomentet, som er p\u00e5 560 Nm ved 1500 omdreininger, opplevdes som mer enn tilstrekkelig, for \u00e5 si det s\u00e5nn. 70 mph p\u00e5 motorveien f\u00f8ltes ikke akkurat stressende, bare beroligende. 0-100 skal g\u00e5 unna p\u00e5 5,8 sekunder. Fra der min datter bor, er det en liten p\u00e5kj\u00f8ringsrampe til hovedveien der trafikken kommer br\u00e5tt over bakketoppen. Et \u00f8rlite snerr fra motoren og vi er i fart. Ingen stress. Bare sj\u00e5f\u00f8rens t\u00e5pelige flir.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDet er det som er s\u00e5 fint med seksere. Kreftene leveres uten stress av noe slag. Man merker hvordan 245-dekkene griper tak ved gassp\u00e5drag og ekspederer deg trygt gjennom svingene opp bakkene p\u00e5 de smale landeveiene. Automatkassa er konvensjonell type som tilpasser seg omgivelsene og kj\u00f8rem\u00f8nsteret, 8-trinns og levert av ZF. Den kan gires steg for steg manuelt ved \u00e5 vippe girspaken mot venstre. Jeg tror ikke BMW 530d kan leveres med noen annen girkasse.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nInne i byen, der hotellet v\u00e5rt fra 1600-tallet l\u00e5, var det s\u00e5 smale gater at vi m\u00e5tte sette to hjul opp p\u00e5 et smalt fortau og man\u00f8vrere med centimeters klaringer. Jeg merket ved et par anledninger at \u00f8ynene bedro meg litt, &#8211; at bilen faktisk var bredere enn hva jeg hadde inntrykk av. Jeg tror M Sport stylingen med de skarpe profilene p\u00e5 panseret bidro til det. Du sitter kongelig i de flotte stolene. Lydbildet er fantastisk behagelig, og alt du ser, og ber\u00f8rer, tilh\u00f8rer f\u00f8rste klasse. Sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5let burde kanskje heller v\u00e6re om komforten gikk ut over sportsligheten.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJeg hadde demperoppsettet satt p\u00e5 \u00abComfort\u00bb hele tiden. Det passet over alt der vi kj\u00f8rte, i hovedsak p\u00e5 motorveistrekninger, og smale britiske landeveier som kryper helt inntil hekker og steingjerder, dels ganske slitt asfalt og ganske mange hull. Ingen av veiene vi kj\u00f8rte p\u00e5, var egnet til t\u00f8ye grensene for bilens sportslige egenskaper. Siden jeg ikke vet eksakt hvor full tanken var n\u00e5r jeg fikk bilen, kan jeg ikke gi noe eksakt forbrukstall, men kan vel si at man skal kj\u00f8re i overkant \u00f8konomisk for \u00e5 n\u00e5 fabrikktallene. Basert p\u00e5 mitt dieselforbruk mot kj\u00f8rt distanse, beregner jeg 0,70 liter pr mil med blandet kj\u00f8ring fordelt p\u00e5 by, svingete landevei og motorvei, &#8211; i omtrent like store andeler. Ikke verst det heller.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nBilen hadde stop &#038; start teknologi. Dette systemet fungerte bedre i BMW enn jeg har opplevd i automatbiler fra Audi\/Volkswagen. Her starter ikke bilen f\u00f8r du slipper bremsen helt opp. Jeg forundret meg litt over at systemet ikke slo seg av i bratte motbakker, men opplevde det aldri som noe problem.<br
