Men i Japan har det v\u00e6rt bilproduksjon siden tidlig p\u00e5 1900 tallet. Bakgrunnen for bilmerket var en produsent ved navnet Kaishinsha Motorcar Works som laget noen biler med navnet DAT. Det ble produsert relativt f\u00e5 biler i Japan f\u00f8r krigen (1940). I 1932 ble navnet p\u00e5 bilene endret til Datsun, et merke som ble brukt frem til rundt 1980. Da begynte fabrikken \u00e5 bruke &laquo;Nissan&raquo; som merke p\u00e5 alle sine produkter over hele verden.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Datsun Bluebird 410<\/h3>\n<p>I 1963 lanserte fabrikken en modell som ble meget popul\u00e6r her i landet. Det var en oppgradert Bluebird med typebetegnelse 410. Denne modellen kom f\u00f8rst kun med 4 d\u00f8rer, men andre varianter ble satt i produksjon for \u00e5 dekke behovet p\u00e5 forskjellige markeder. Her i Norge ble den solgt som personbil, varebil og stasjonsvogn. P\u00e5 denne modellen var mange detaljer som tiltalte nye bilkj\u00f8pere. En god rustbeskyttelse med galvaniserte plater i understell, kanaler og b\u00e6rebjelker var argumenter som bilkj\u00f8pere satte pris p\u00e5. Et forseggjort interi\u00f8r med polstret instrumentpanel og tykke tepper ga bilen et snev av luksus. En kort girstang plassert mellom forsetene var sporty p\u00e5 den tiden.<\/p>\n<p>Denne modellen var i produksjon til 1968.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Datsun 120Y<\/h3>\n<p>En annen popul\u00e6r modell fra Datsun var 120Y. Modellen hadde flere betegnelser p\u00e5 forskjellige markeder. Et modellnavn som ble mye brukt var &laquo;Sunny&raquo;. Modellserien startet sitt liv i 1965 og fortsatte helt frem til 2004 etter utallige modellendringer og oppgraderinger. Modellen her ble produsert i perioden 1973 til 1977. Valgmulighetene var store siden 120Y kom i en rekke karosserivarianter med en rekke motoralternativer. En stor fordel var at Datsun 120Y var sv\u00e6rt snill n\u00e5r det gjaldt bensinforbruk, og det var et meget godt salgsargument under bensinkrisen.
