Det er fortsatt sommer. Sj\u00f8en er enn\u00e5 gr\u00f8nn etter \u00e5rets smeltevann. S\u00f8ndagen har v\u00e5knet til liv. Folk sitter ute med kaffe og frokost. En kar er i full gang med \u00e5 bygge spikertelt.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2_first\">Oldschool Toyota<\/h3>\n<p>Innimellom bobiler og moderne campingvogner skimter jeg noen fine gamle Toyotaer. Artig gjensyn, tenkte jeg. For 30 og 40 \u00e5r siden ville campingplassen v\u00e6rt full av biler som Corolla, Carina, Cressida og kanskje en og annen Crown. Det var da bilene var lakkerte i forskjellige farger &#8211; og familier kunne dra p\u00e5 ferietur i en Corolla. Toyotaene er p\u00e5 ingen m\u00e5te forsvunnet fra campingplassene, men de ser annerledes ut i dag. Det var ikke T-Forden som fikk Norge p\u00e5 hjul. Det var Toyota.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Enkle og holdbare<\/h3>\n<p>De f\u00f8rste japanske bilene utmerket seg ikke med spissteknologiske finesser og banebrytende design. De var heller en tanke sidrumpede. Filosofien var \u00abkeep it simple\u00bb for \u00e5 holde prisene lave og kvaliteten h\u00f8y. Jeg tenker ikke p\u00e5 dem som gamle biler, skj\u00f8nt de to bilene i dette innlegget er over 40 \u00e5r gamle. Det flotte inntrykket blir forsterket av at bilene har f\u00e5tt ny farge, oppgraderte hjul og senket. Motormessig ble alle Cressida&#8217;ene til Norge levert med en 2-litersmotor med 90 HK. I andre deler av verden kunne man f\u00e5 den med Toyotas flotte rekkesekser 2,6 og 2,8. Corona&#8217;ene skulle vise seg \u00e5 v\u00e6re veldig driftssikre og la grunnlaget for Toyotas vekst. Verdensbilen Corolla var heller ingen skuffelse. Sennepsgult var en sv\u00e6rt popul\u00e6r farge da andre-generasjons Corolla E20 kom i 1970. Den var s\u00e5 popul\u00e6r at produksjonen fortsatte et par \u00e5r etter at etterf\u00f8lgeren ble lansert som 1975-modell.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34488\" F\u00e5 biler var s\u00e5 p\u00e5litelige som Crown.
