Med god erfaring fra annen industriproduksjon og flere studiebes\u00f8k hos andre bilprodusenter i USA, l\u00e5 alt til rette og den f\u00f8rste modellen ble lansert i 1919. Den ble sv\u00e6rt godt mottatt siden den b\u00e5de var solid og velutstyrt og ga bilkj\u00f8perne god valuta for pengene. Nye modeller ble lansert samtidig som Citro\u00ebn, som en av de f\u00f8rste bilprodusentene, bygget ut et stort forhandlernett. Resultatet ble at fabrikken allerede 10 \u00e5r etter oppstart ble Frankrikes st\u00f8rste bilprodusent. Men ekspansjonen kostet og nye kapitalsterke eiere m\u00e5tte inn for \u00e5 avhjelpe den kritiske situasjonen. Det hjalp, og den nyutviklede modellen Traction Avant kunne settes i produksjon. Modellen var i produksjon helt frem til 1957. I 1948 kom den nye lille modellen 2 CV som ble en favoritt blant dem som ville ha en rimelig og ukomplisert bil. DS19 var en bil som var langt forut for sin tid da den kom i 1955. I 1961 kom den lille modellen Ami 6 p\u00e5 markedet. Det var en liten familiebil med et noks\u00e5 s\u00e6rt utseende takket v\u00e6re det skr\u00e5stilte bakvinduet.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Enest\u00e5ende kj\u00f8rekomfort<\/h3>\n<p>Modellen var til dels en videreutvikling av Citro\u00ebn 2CV. Den hadde separat chassis og et avansert fj\u00e6rsystem som ga Ami 6 en enest\u00e5ende kj\u00f8rekomfort. I det avanserte systemet var for og bakhjul p\u00e5 hver side koblet sammen. N\u00e5r et forhjul traff en hump i veien ble bakhjulet p\u00e5 samme side presset ned for \u00e5 motvirke svingninger. Fra tester i 1962 ble kj\u00f8rekomforten beskrevet som \u201denest\u00e5ende\u201d. Komfort var det ogs\u00e5 for f\u00f8rer og passasjerer. Setene var usedvanlig bl\u00f8te og bilen hadde 4 d\u00f8rer som ga lett adkomst til kupeen. Siden dette var en bil med en liten, luftkj\u00f8lt motor, var det ingen bil for kaldt klima.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ble produsert i 17 \u00e5r<\/h3>\n<p>Citr\u00f6en Ami ble produsert i flere varianter mellom 1961 og 1978.
