N\u00e5r andre sier: <em>&laquo;Dette er umulig!&raquo;<\/em>, g\u00e5r gr\u00fcnderne til verks og motbeviser p\u00e5standen. Vel, kanskje ikke alltid &#8211; men de <em>pr\u00f8vde<\/em>. Derfor er jeg fascinert av bilprosjektet i Telemark. Bilene var ikke rare greiene. Ikke s\u00e6rlig vakre, og ikke s\u00e6rlig imponerende skrudd sammen, med tanke p\u00e5 passform p\u00e5 d\u00f8rer, panser og s\u00e5nt. Det som vekker nygjerrighet, er <em>historien<\/em>. Hva var det egentlig som skjedde? Jeg har sett Troll utstilt p\u00e5 bilutstillinger flere ganger, &#8211;  alltid ledsaget av plakater med en tekst &#8211; en liten historie &#8211; ofte knyttet til \u00e9n bil, \u00e9n eier, ett sted. Vi f\u00e5r livshistorien til Troll-bilens gr\u00fcnder, Per Kohl-Larsen, den norsk-tyske professors\u00f8nnen som begynte med kaffeplantasje i Afrika, giftet seg med en norsk kvinne som han etter hvert fikk seks barn med, ble trukket inn i krigen p\u00e5 tysk side, fikk med seg familien opp til Norge, opprettet kontakter med en tysk mikrobilkonstrukt\u00f8r og etablerte seg i Lunde i Telemark for \u00e5 starte produksjon av et norsk bilmerke.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nBokens forfatter, Paal Kvamme, har gjort en grundig research for \u00e5 kunne forklare hele historien om Troll-prosjektet. Han har blant annet kontaktet Per Kohl-Larsens etterkommere og andre personer som har v\u00e6rt involvert i Troll p\u00e5 femtitallet og fremover i tiden. Han har sporet opp dokumenter og brevveksling mellom Kohl-Larsen, myndigheter, banker og andre. Spesielt interessant synes jeg kontakten mellom Kohl-Larsen og Einar Gerhardsen er. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Hvor norsk var egentlig Troll?<\/h3>\n<p>Boken f\u00f8lger Kohl-Larsen til sm\u00e5 bilprodusenter i etterkrigs\u00e5renes Tyskland. Bilmerker som  for lengst er borte fra markedet &#8211; eller som aldri greidde \u00e5 etablere seg. En bilgr\u00fcnder som starter med to tomme hender, er avhengig av ha et kontaktnett for \u00e5 f\u00e5 tilgang til kunnskap og komponenter. Kohl-Larsen som snakket perfekt tysk og kjente tysk v\u00e6rem\u00e5te, hadde et stort fortrinn. Trolls viktigste samarbeidspartner skulle bli Gutbrod som blant annet produserte egne biler. <em>Gutbrod Superior<\/em> var en kn\u00f8ttliten 2-seter p\u00e5 rundt 3,5 meter med nedrullbart tak, som Fiat 500 og Citroen 2CV. Mellom 1950-54 produserte Gutbrod totalt 7726 Superior-biler &#8211; et anstendig antall. Det var fra denne modellen Kohl-Larsen skulle f\u00e5 levert drivverk og ramme\/chassis til Troll. Rammen m\u00e5tte forlenges noen centimeter. Alt som da gjensto var \u00e5 strekke det elektriske anlegget, st\u00f8pe glassfiber-karrosseriet, montere inventar og hjul. Bokens dokumentariske fremstilling gir rom for egne spekulasjoner. Kohl-Larsen f\u00f8lte at prosjektet ble d\u00e5rlig behandlet av myndighetene. Min oppfatning, basert p\u00e5 boken, er at myndighetenes behandling av Kohl-Larsen og Troll-prosjektet vel var som man m\u00e5tte forvente, &#8211; og at det p\u00e5 ingen m\u00e5te ble stukket kjepper i hjulene verken fra sentrale eller lokale myndigheter. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Kj\u00f8petillatelse med forbehold<\/h3>\n<p>Kohl-Larsen fikk etter hvert tillatelse til \u00e5 bygge 200 biler som kunne selges uten kj\u00f8petillatelse &#8211; kun en proforma registreringstillatelse fra Vegvesenet var n\u00f8dvendig. Lite tydet p\u00e5 at politikerne ville oppheve generelle restriksjoner med hensyn til bilkj\u00f8p &#8211; selv om det gjaldt norskproduserte biler. At bilsalget ikke var frigitt, m\u00e5 ha satt en stopper for \u00e5 skaffe kapital. Heller ikke innen datidens bilbransje var det s\u00e6rlig mye kapital \u00e5 hente &#8211; kun en h\u00e5ndfull bestillinger. Jeg tenker at hvis myndighetene hadde lempet p\u00e5 kj\u00f8perestriksjonene &#8211; gjort unntak for norskproduserte biler, &#8211; kunne kanskje Kohl-Larsen ha greidd \u00e5 f\u00e5 med seg investorer. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ingen statst\u00f8tte<\/h3>\n<p>Kohl-Larsen \u00f8nsket statst\u00f8tte til prosjektet &#8211; et sp\u00f8rsm\u00e5l jeg ogs\u00e5 har stilt meg selv &#8211; <em>f\u00f8r<\/em> jeg leste boken. Inntrykket <em>etter<\/em> \u00e5 ha lest boken, er at prosjektet neppe ville v\u00e6rt berettiget til s\u00e5nn st\u00f8tte. Jeg sitter igjen med inntrykk av at teamet bak Troll var sv\u00e6rt langt unna reelle produksjonsplaner med \u00e5 bygge opp og organisere en st\u00f8rre fabrikk. Hva skulle staten egentlig gi st\u00f8tte til? Dessuten fantes det ganske mange tegn p\u00e5 at at bilene egnet seg  d\u00e5rlig til l\u00f8nnsom produksjon i stor skala? <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Feil teknologi?<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg fant det interessant \u00e5 lese om forretningsmannen <em>Edward Sejerstedt B\u00f8dtger<\/em> som, i f\u00f8lge boken, <em>&laquo;\u00f8nsket \u00e5 f\u00e5  Kohl-Larsen til \u00e5 bytte ut Gutbrod-maskineriet med en kraftigere motor fra Panhard.&raquo;<\/em> P\u00e5 femtitallet var det to &laquo;skoler&raquo; for \u00e5 bygge lette og billige kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y. Sm\u00e5 totaktsmotorer som den to-sylindrede Gutbrod-motoren, &#8211; eller 2-sylindrede, luftavkj\u00f8lte boxermotorer av typen man finner i for eksempel 2CV &#8211; og i de st\u00f8rre Panhard&#8217;ene. Begge er enkle og rimelige motorkonstruksjoner med sine fordeler og ulemper. En annen interessant opplysning, var at Sejerstedt B\u00f8dtger hadde agentur p\u00e5 Panhard i Norge gjennom sitt selskap DNA (Det norske Automobilkonsern). Hvorfor fikk ikke disse herlige bilene bedre fotfeste i 50-\u00e5renes bilmarked?<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Troll-historien fortsetter<\/h3>\n<p>I boken er det redegjort for alle bilene. Hva som skjedde med dem og hvor de befinner seg i dag. Det gjelder alle fire som ble laget ved fabrikken, samt de tre uferdige chassisene.  Ett av dem ble brukt til \u00e5 bygge en flott Troll-halvbror basert p\u00e5 de originale glassfiber-formene etter at Troll-prosjektet var avviklet. Bilbyggeren var telemarkingen Harald Aspheim. Bygde han den fineste Trollbilen?<\/p>\n<p>Jakten p\u00e5 \u00e5 kartlegge historien til de gjenv\u00e6rende bilene har bydd p\u00e5 problemer. P\u00e5 en av bilene, som i dag st\u00e5r hos Norsk Vegmuseum p\u00e5 Lillehammer, har man ikke greidd \u00e5 spore noe chassisnummer, selv om bilen skal ha f\u00e5tt to ulike numre gjennom tidene. I g\u00e5r leste jeg p\u00e5 Trollbokens Facebook-side at iherdig detektivarbeid endelig har gitt resultater. Historien om Troll interesserer mange. Dr\u00f8mmen om TROLL handler om bilhistorie, lokalhistorie, litt Norgeshistorie. Det ble ikke noe industrieventyr.
