Den var avregistrert og kan ha st\u00e5tt en stund, for alt jeg vet. Monarch var s\u00f8stermodellen til Ford Granada &#8211; ikke den europeiske, men den amerikanske versjonen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>For noen uker siden var jeg innom et Fordtreff p\u00e5 Sundvollen Hotel. Da fikk jeg se n\u00e6rmere p\u00e5 en amerikansk Granada. P\u00e5 nettbaserte bilb\u00f8rser finner jeg kun en h\u00e5ndfull biler til salgs . Man kunne tro det handlet om en uhyre sjelden modell. Men sannheten er at i l\u00f8pet av 5 \u00e5r ble det solgt ufattelige 2,64 millioner amerikanske US-Granada&#8217;er og Monarch&#8217;er! <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Ble noen tatt inn til Norge?<\/h3>\n<p>De av oss som har levd en stund, husker bilimportfirmaet Norim A\/S fra Drammen som tok inn Ford Ranchero og Ford LTD stasjonsvogn p\u00e5 slutten av 70-tallet. Begge kunne registreres som avgiftsgunstige varebiler. Norim annonserte hyppig p\u00e5 den tiden. Jeg mener \u00e5 huske at amerikansk Granada var nevnt i \u00e9n av dem &#8211; som en slags fotnote. Kanskje en modell de ville teste p\u00e5 markedet? P\u00e5 slutten av 70-tallet fikk salget av amerikanske biler her hjemme nemlig en liten oppsving. Oljekrisen hadde f\u00e5tt Detroit til \u00e5 downsize bilene s\u00e5nn at de passet bedre til norske veier. Harald A M\u00f8ller begynte \u00e5 ta inn Dodge Aspen. Kanskje det var derfor de valgte \u00e5 kalle modellen &laquo;Granada&raquo; &#8211; oppkalt etter en vellykket europeisk modell. Men den amerikanske modellen hadde ingen ting til felles med &laquo;v\u00e5r&raquo; Granada. Den baserte seg p\u00e5 Ford Maverick. For \u00e5 spare penger arvet modellen Mavericks bakhjulsoppheng og kraftoverf\u00f8ring med r\u00f8tter tilbake til 60-tallets Falcon &#8211; med stiv bakaksel og bladfj\u00e6rer &#8211; noe de f\u00f8rste Mustangene faktisk ogs\u00e5 hadde. Til sammenligning hadde &laquo;v\u00e5r&raquo; Granada et moderne og avansert understell med uavhengig fj\u00e6ring p\u00e5 alle hjul. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Drivlinjer hentet fra Ford-stallen<\/h3>\n<p>Visst var Granada liten i forhold til sine st\u00f8rre br\u00f8dre hos Ford, som Torino og LTD. Likevel var den dr\u00f8ye 5 meter lang og 1,8 meter bred. Den kunne leveres med to rekkeseksere og to V8&#8217;ere, &#8211; 302-motoren (5,0 liter) og 351-motoren (5,7 liter). Kj\u00f8pere kunne velge mellom tre girkasser, 3- eller 4-trinns manuell eller en 3-trinns automat. En artikkel totalt blottet for entusiasme. Jeg humret over siste setning hvor biljournallisten skriver at nye Granada var en bil han synes passet godt til sin mor. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skikkelig Amcar<\/h3>\n<p>Den sorte Granada&#8217;en jeg fikk se p\u00e5 Sundvollen, har den st\u00f8rste 351-motoren (5,7 -liter) som i standardutgave leverte 147 HK. Eieren opplyste at bilen fremdeles hadde originallakk. Dekket av dr\u00e5pene fra en passerende regnskur, s\u00e5 lakken faktisk helt str\u00f8ken ut. Det eneste som r\u00f8pet alderen, var \u00f8rsm\u00e5 hakk i den gullfargede pin-stripingen. Bilens vinylkledte &laquo;Landau top&raquo; hadde opprinnelig v\u00e6rt beige-aktig, men n\u00e5 i sort. Den spesielle avslutningen p\u00e5 coup\u00e9taket var veldig tidstypisk 70-talls. N\u00e5r Landau-toppen har samme farge som resten av bilen, tones 70-tallspreget ned p\u00e5 en fin m\u00e5te. Granada kunne for \u00f8vrig leveres med lekkert fargeavstemt dashbord, seter, tepper, d\u00f8rsider og setebelter, som bare amerikanerne kan. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Forkledt Mustang?<\/h3>\n<p>Teknisk sett er den avbildede Granada&#8217;en ganske lik Mustang mk1. Da Granada ble introdusert, hadde Ford akkurat sluppet den nedskalerte Mustang mk2. Den kunne ikke leveres med V8 &#8211; bare Pinto-motorer, noe som vakte skuffelse og harme blant Mustang-entusiastene. Pinto var Fords stygge andunge, &#8211; omtrent som Chevette var for GM. Selv om Granada henvendte seg til trauste, sm\u00e5borgelige kj\u00f8pere (herunder til\u00e5rskomne m\u00f8dre) s\u00e5 skal man ikke se bort i fra at noen byttet inn sin Mustang mk1 med en Granada lik den svarte p\u00e5 bildet. Trolig det beste Mustang-alternativet i 1975. Ford, p\u00e5 sin side, fors\u00f8kte gjennom en annonsekampanje \u00e5 fremstille Granada Coup\u00e9 som et alternativ til den popul\u00e6re Mercedes 280 SLC. En talentl\u00f8s sammenligning, sett med europeiske \u00f8yne, &#8211; men man skal ikke se bort i fra at det fikk naive amerikanere til \u00e5 tro at deres Granada var et vanlig syn p\u00e5 europeiske veier.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8211; Lurer p\u00e5 om det ble solgt noen amerikanske Granada&#8217;er som nye i Norge?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<figure id=\"attachment_24488\"
