De er et godt eksempel p\u00e5 vellykket downsizing. Men Volkswagen har g\u00e5tt videre. Ved \u00e5 g\u00e5 ned til tre sylindre er b\u00e5de forbruk og CO2-utslipp redusert. De nye 1-litersmotorene har endatil f\u00e5tt flere hestekrefter og h\u00f8yere dreiemoment, men ikke samme kj\u00f8reglede.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Seat Leon, er ingen d\u00e5rlig bil. Den er like stor som Volkswagen Golf og vakrere enn Audi A3 (in my own humble mind). Leon er mye bil for pengene &#8211; en bil for snusfornuftige mennesker. Kanskje ikke i Norge, men i resten av Europa. I de siste fem \u00e5rene har jeg tilbragt mange mil i Seat Leon , &#8211; som leiebiler. 1 740 kroner for 14 dager med ubegrenset kj\u00f8relengde er meget prisgunstig. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Utbredt motor<\/h3>\n<p>Min bil denne gangen er relativt enkelt utstyrt. Motoren er den velkjente 1,2 TSI med 110 hestekrefter. Denne motoren sitter i et bredt spekter av modeller, blant annet Volkswagen Polo, Golf, Golf Sportsvan og Touran, Audi A3, Skoda Fabia, Rapid, Octavia og Yeti. Hvordan 1,2-literen oppleves i Seat Leon, kunne like gjerne ha v\u00e6rt formidlet fra en av de andre modellene p\u00e5 samme plattform, for eksempel 2018 Volkswagen Golf 1,2 TSI.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Lavere forbruk og CO2, men &#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>I 2019 valgte Volkswagen-gruppen \u00e5 erstatte den fire-sylindrede 1,2-literen med en tre-sylindret 1-liter. Den nye motoren bruker mindre bensin, har lavere CO2-utslipp og vekt &#8211; og f\u00f8lgelig lavere avgifter. P\u00e5 veien har de to motorene mye til felles, spesielt i m\u00e5ten kreftene leveres p\u00e5. Med 6-trinns girkasse kan turtallet holdes nede p\u00e5 rundt 1500 omdreininger i rolig bytrafikk og da h\u00f8rer man ikke s\u00e5 mye til motoren. Det er f\u00f8rst n\u00e5r man trenger \u00e5 dra p\u00e5 litt, at motoren h\u00f8res. 1,2-motoren l\u00e5ter med sin litt h\u00f8yfrekvente summing utvilsomt som en liten motor. Likevel synes jeg det l\u00e5ter bedre enn den tre-sylindrede 1-litersmotoren, hvor lydbildet ligger i et lavere toneleie, men med den umiskjennelige klangen man f\u00e5r i tre sylindre. Det er en lyd som minner meg om en p\u00e5hengsmotor jeg hadde for noen \u00e5r siden. Hadde det bare v\u00e6rt lydbildet som var ofret, skulle jeg ikke ha sagt noe. Men 1-litersmotoren f\u00f8les ikke like responsvillig n\u00e5r vi beveger oss oppover fra det aller laveste turtallsregisteret. Det f\u00f8les som et \u00f8rlite turbo-lag. Deretter ligger kurven flatt til 4000 omdreininger. Da har man et godt dreiemoment i hele det turtallsspekteret man bruker under daglig kj\u00f8ring. 1-litersmotoren f\u00e5r maks dreiemoment 200 Nm f\u00f8rst fra 2000 omdreininger og frem til 3500. Men allerede ved 1500 omdreininger er dreiemomentet like h\u00f8yt som i 1,2-motoren. Kurven gj\u00f8r en liten knekk ved 1500 omdreininger for \u00e5 gi ekstra boost p\u00e5 lave turtall. P\u00e5 papiret ser alt sv\u00e6rt lovende ut.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Alright &laquo;Golf-motor&raquo;<\/h3>\n<p>P\u00e5 veien med &laquo;min&raquo; 2018 Seat Leon, med den fire-sylindrede motoren, kan jeg hente turtallet forsiktig opp fra 1200 omdreininger helt glatt, uten vibrasjoner. Det er ingen merkbar turbo-lag ved igangkj\u00f8ring. Turboen sl\u00e5r inn s\u00e5 tidlig, at man sjelden merker det. S\u00e5 lenge turboen er med, virker 1,2-motoren sv\u00e6rt responsvillig. Det er dette som gj\u00f8r drivverket morsommere enn andre tilsvarende drivverk.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nEtter 860 km endte snittforbruket p\u00e5 0,54 liter pr mil m\u00e5lt p\u00e5 bilens kj\u00f8recomputer. Det er ikke d\u00e5rlig for en bil i Golf-klassen p\u00e5 syd-europeiske motorveier og trafikk som tidvis krever hard bruk av gassen. Basert p\u00e5 tidligere erfaringer med 1-litersmotoren, ville jeg neppe ha spart mer enn 0,04 &#8211; 0,05 liter pr mil med det nye motoralternativet.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Vurd\u00e9r \u00e5 g\u00e5 opp en motorst\u00f8rrelse<\/h3>\n<p>Uansett om man kj\u00f8rer 1-litersmotoren eller 1,2-motoren er det ikke til \u00e5 komme i fra at det handler om basismotorisering. Du kan kj\u00f8pe mye mer spennende motorer til Seat Leon, for eksempel 1,4-motoren med 150 hestekrefter og  Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) som kutter 2 sylindre n\u00e5r motoren g\u00e5r uanstrengt. Det et denne motoren som sitter i bilene som tas inn til Norge. Det norske avgiftssystemet gj\u00f8r at disse bilene da havner i et prisleie hvor bilkj\u00f8perne velger andre biler som er mer utbredt enn Seat Leon. B\u00e5de Golf og A3 tilbyr tilsvarende motorl\u00f8sninger for de som ikke vil ha 1-litersmotoren. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Konklusjon<\/h3>\n<p>Poenget med \u00e5 sammenligne de to basismotorene fra Volkswagen-gruppen er at basismotorer ikke beh\u00f8ver \u00e5 v\u00e6re kjedelige. 1,2 TSI oppleves ikke som noen kjedelig motor. 1-liters TSI-motoren gir b\u00e5de bedre ytelser og lavere forbruk (win-win), men den f\u00f8les mindre engasjerende \u00e5 kj\u00f8re. Som &laquo;keen driver&raquo; konkluderer jeg med at Volkswagen-gruppens downsizing har v\u00e6rt mer vellykket p\u00e5 papiret enn i virkeligheten.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nVurderer du \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe en brukt Golf, A3 eller Octavia, skal du ikke bekymre deg over at du f\u00e5r 1,2-motoren i stedet for den nye 1-litersmotoren. Tvert i mot. Dagens modell ble presentert i 2012 og fikk en liten facelift i 2017. Livet med \u00abmine\u00bb Leon\u2019er gjennom flere \u00e5r har v\u00e6rt godt. Super st\u00f8yisolering &#8211; bedre enn broren Audi A3. Designet henger fremdeles med i tiden. F\u00f8rerplassen oppleves som andre biler fra samme konsern og plassforholdene er identiske med Golf. Det samme er teknikken.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSkulle du komme over en nyere Seat Leon p\u00e5 bruktmarkedet, er det bare \u00e5 sl\u00e5 til. Da f\u00e5r du en bil som f\u00e5 andre har maken til. Ikke lytt til reklamen. Seat gj\u00f8r deg hverken yngre, mer attraktiv eller mer urban.
