Renault Vel Satis er en fullsize europeisk executive car. De ytre m\u00e5lene er som f\u00f8lger: Lengde 4,86, bredde 1,86 og h\u00f8yde 1,58. Det er <em>h\u00f8yden<\/em> som f\u00e5r bilen til \u00e5 se mindre ut enn den egentlig er. Den er designet som en kompakt kombikup\u00e9 og skalert opp til E-klasse. Et franskt fors\u00f8k p\u00e5 \u00e5 redesigne prestisjeklassen.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nN\u00e5r statseide Renault lager en prestisjebil, lages det naturligvis ogs\u00e5 en bil til presidenten. Den siste president som benyttet Vel Satis, var Nicolas Sarkozy frem til 2010 da produksjonen ble innstilt. Da hadde modellen v\u00e6rt i produksjon siden 2002 med en facelift i 2005. Den avbildede bilen er f\u00f8r facelift, &#8211; etter min mening den vakreste, med vertikale skr\u00e5stilte ribber i grillen. Etter facelift ble fronten gjort enklere, mer anonym og pregl\u00f8s. Det hjalp lite med kromlister i grillen, forkrommede d\u00f8rh\u00e5ndtak og to separate eksosr\u00f8r.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJeg s\u00e5 to Vel Satis under siste opphold i min franske region. Den avbildede bilen i fargen <em>Bleu Azur<\/em> og en facelifted bil i en r\u00f8dlig oransje farge. En kombinasjon som absolutt fjernet det lille denne modellen har av prestisje. Og mangelen p\u00e5 prestisje er kanskje den st\u00f8rste innvendingen mot Vel Satis. Ingen d\u00e5rlig bil, bare litt spesiell, &#8211; men ikke spesiell nok, kanskje? Dels p\u00e5 grunn av at det ikke bor s\u00e5 mange rikinger her, og dels fordi gatene i de gamle byene er temmelig smale. En av v\u00e5re lokale drosjeeiere suser rundt i <a href=\"https:\/\/terjebjornstad.com\/no\/2016\/07\/10\/follow-that-cab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>en svart Citro\u00ebn C6<\/strong><\/a>. Han er et unntak. Store Citro\u00ebn&#8217;er er sjeldne. CX&#8217;er og XM&#8217;er har jeg bare greidd \u00e5 finne p\u00e5 bilskroter. Til og med C5 er et sjeldent syn, da ofte med skilter fra andre, mer velst\u00e5ende regioner av Frankrike. Jeg tok bilde av denne s\u00f8lvgr\u00e5 XM utenfor et lite bilverksted jeg passerer p\u00e5 sykkelturene mine. Vakre, patinerte delebiler st\u00e5r spredt omkring i verkstedeierens hage og ut over jordet.  <\/p>\n\n<figure id=\"attachment_18328\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18328\" style=\"width: Jeg tror dette er en sjelden J46.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Toyota Land Cruiser BJ46<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg er noks\u00e5 sikker p\u00e5 at Toyota aldri har produsert Land Cruiser&#8217;e i Frankrike. De er likevel sv\u00e6rt popul\u00e6re her, &#8211; spesielt i fjellomr\u00e5dene ved Pyreneene hvor kj\u00f8reforholdene kan sette vanlige biler p\u00e5 pr\u00f8ve. Det er spesielt Land Cruiser&#8217;s 70-serie det g\u00e5r flest av. De f\u00f8rste Land Cruiser&#8217;ne, 40-serien, er et sjeldent syn. Tidlige biler led ofte av rustproblemer, skj\u00f8nt i denne delen av verden er klimaet s\u00e5 t\u00f8rt at rusten sjelden f\u00e5r feste. Og som alle vet, &#8211; hvis du kan holde rusten borte fra en Land Cruiser, s\u00e5 har du bil for livet.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDen avbildede Land Cruiser&#8217;en er en forlenget utgave p\u00e5 kort akselavstand. Det er trolig en versjon fra begynnelsen av 80-tallet. Jeg har problemer med \u00e5 finne lignende biler p\u00e5 nettet. Spesielt plasseringen av de bakre side-vinduene. Jeg fant maken til salgs p\u00e5 en fransk nettside. Det var en 1983-modell BJ46. Tidlige Land Cruiser&#8217;e ble bygget som \u00e5pne jeep&#8217;er, hvor de lukkede modellene fikk montert en glassfiber-topp. Jeg tror den spesielle toppen kan v\u00e6re spesiell for biler levert her i Frankrike, eller at den er ettermontert. Med tanke p\u00e5 hvor bra den avbildede bilen ser ut, har den sikkert gjennomg\u00e5tt en grundig renovering.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJeg synes bilene i 40-serien er knallt\u00f8ffe. De er ogs\u00e5 kostbare. En kultbil for de som vet hva dette er. Utvilsomt en klassiker. Noen hadde tatt turen inn til byen med sin nyrenoverte r\u00f8de Renault Caravelle. En perle som s\u00e5 ut som den kom rett ut av et h\u00e5ndkolorert fransk postkort fra 60-tallet. Karosseriene kan st\u00f8pes p\u00e5 nytt, og man kan faktisk kj\u00f8pe helt nye og ubrukte motorinstallasjoner basert p\u00e5 den luftavkj\u00f8lte 602 ccm motoren. Mange benytter M\u00e9hari til lokale turer, &#8211; til byen, til butikken og til stranden. Kan du hoste opp 15 000 euro, f\u00e5r du et flott eksemplar.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nUnder <em>ud\u00f8delige franske<\/em> h\u00f8rer ogs\u00e5 Citro\u00ebn 2CV og Renault 4. Mange av disse bilene er fortsatt i drift i daglige transportform\u00e5l. Jeg ser likevel en trend til at stadig flere unge kj\u00f8per disse bilene. Cool&#8217;ere bil er vanskelig \u00e5 oppdrive p\u00e5 et ungdommelig budsjett. Bilene er gjerne kostemalte eller &laquo;stylet&raquo; p\u00e5 annen m\u00e5te.
