Den kunne man kj\u00f8pe for Cortina-penger. For Capri delte nemlig det meste av mekaniske deler med Ford Cortina mk2. <\/p>\n<p>Capri var ingen sportsbil. Mer en slags Cortina 4-seter Coup\u00e9. Biler til Norge ble levert med Kent-motorer p\u00e5 1300 (52 HK), 1600 (75 HK) og 1600 GT (82 HK). Denne motorserien finner vi ogs\u00e5 i Escort og Fiesta. OHV med overliggende ventiler drevet av sideliggende kam og st\u00f8tstenger. Crossflow med innsug og utbl\u00e5sing p\u00e5 hver side for \u00e5 skape optimal gjennomstr\u00f8mming og forbrenning. Hjuloppheng og bremser var ogs\u00e5 hentet fra Cortina-hyllene. McPherson og skiver foran, &#8211; bladfj\u00e6rer og tromler bak. Styringen, derimot, ble hentet fra Escort &#8211; i stedet for Cortina &#8211; fordi Escort, som hadde kommet \u00e5ret f\u00f8r, hadde f\u00e5tt tannstangstyring og sikkerhetsrattstamme. <\/p>\n<p>Kunne motorene yte det sportslige utseende rettferdighet? 1600-motorene kunne det. Jeg har kj\u00f8rt b\u00e5de vanlig 1600 og 1600 GT i Cortina mk2. Dette er motorer uten elektronikk og katalysator. N\u00e5r du kicker p\u00e5 gassen, s\u00f8rger den mekaniske akselerasjonspumpen for at motoren f\u00e5r en skikkelig d\u00e6sj bensin. I en bil p\u00e5 rundt ett tonn kommer kraften spontant ut til bakhjulene. De 4 girene sitter ganske tett, med et sprang mellom 2. og 3. gir. Kj\u00f8reegenskapene er enkle, men byr p\u00e5 gode muligheter for aktiv og sportslig kj\u00f8ring, og er ganske underholdende p\u00e5 svingete bakveier. Du trenger ikke kj\u00f8re s\u00e6rlig fort for \u00e5 ha det moro.<\/p>\n<p>Ford Capri begynner \u00e5 bli borte fra veiene. Det er sjelden de kommer for salg. Og n\u00e5r det skjer, er det ofte en bil med 1300-motor. Heldigvis er Ford takknemlige objekter for motoroppgraderinger. Teknisk sett kan du nesten sette inn hva som helst fra Ford, ogs\u00e5 moderne motorer. Den er bygget i Tyskland og har samme lille V6 som ble brukt i samtidens 20M og den sjeldne OSI-modellen, senere ogs\u00e5 Ford Consul\/Granada. Den yter125 HK og m\u00e5 v\u00e6re ideell for Capri. Senere kom ogs\u00e5 2600 GT, som jeg tror er den mest attraktive motorpakka. Jeg har lest at Capri med V6 kun fikk noen forsterkninger i framvogna og ellers var samme bil som de med 4-sylindrede motorer. Utvendig kan du spotte sekserne ved at de har en kul p\u00e5 panseret. <\/p>\n<p>Capri ble bygget flere steder i verden, blant annet i Storbritannia, USA og Tyskland. Og man brukte de motorene man hadde. Capri&#8217;er fra Storbritannia fikk Kent-motorene fra Cortina. Det var de som havnet i Norge. Capri kunne ogs\u00e5 leveres med en V4 fra Corsair, &#8211; og selvf\u00f8lgelig toppmodellen med 3 liter V6. Biler fra K\u00f6ln fikk V4-motorer fra 12M. Tyskerne hadde ogs\u00e5 sine fine sm\u00e5 V6-motorer. Biler fra USA fikk Pinto-motorer. De kunne ogs\u00e5 utstyres med servostyring. <\/p>\n<p>Er du p\u00e5 jakt etter en Capri, finnes det flere fine objekter i Mellom-Europa &#8211; men mange av dem har V4. Capri med V4 l\u00e5ter feil i mine \u00f8rer.
