Audis suksess startet imidlertid med denne modellen, en Audi 80 B1.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>N\u00e5r Audi&#8217;s historie skal fortelles, trekker man gjerne inn Horsch og Wanderer, luksusmerker fra mellomkrigstiden. Sannheten er at disse bilene aldri hadde noen innflytelse p\u00e5 Audi. Dagens Audi stammer fra enkle, folkelige bilmerker som DKW og NSU. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Dagens Audi?<\/h3>\n<p>Audi 80 B1 var &laquo;Die neue Leistungsklasse&raquo;. Den ga Audi et nytt ansikt. Forgjengeren, Audi 60, bar ogs\u00e5 Audi-navnet, men internbetegnelsen F103 r\u00f8pet at opphavet var DKW, &#8211; en videref\u00f8ring av DKW F102 som var en putrende totakter.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDen nye Audi 80 med sine rette, elegante linjer ble Audis identitet i mange \u00e5r. Ikke bare Audi, men ogs\u00e5 Volkswagen. \u00c5ret etter dukket s\u00f8stermodellen Passat opp, &#8211; deretter Golf og Polo. Alle med de samme rene linjene som Audi 80.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDe f\u00f8rste \u00e5rene ble ikke Audi&#8217;ene solgt gjennom Volkswagens forhandlernett. Hvis du \u00f8nsket \u00e5 ta en n\u00e6rmere titt p\u00e5 den nye Audi 80, m\u00e5tte du g\u00e5 til <em>Audi NSU<\/em>-forhandleren. Det pryder ogs\u00e5 forsiden p\u00e5 brosjyren (foto: ebay.com).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Da Audi 80 B1 ble lansert<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg var en ung mann som enn\u00e5 ikke hadde f\u00f8rerkort. Jeg skrev likevel til Tyskland for \u00e5 f\u00e5 brosjyre. Det fikk jeg med et maskinskrevet brev som henviste meg til det lille norske forhandlernettet. S\u00e5 jeg stilte opp hos n\u00e6rmeste forhandler &#8211; en l\u00f8rdag sammen med faren min for \u00e5 pr\u00f8vekj\u00f8re vidunderet. Forhandleren hadde to demobiler st\u00e5ende ved huset sitt. Vi pr\u00f8vekj\u00f8rte en GL med forhandlerens tause, men vakre kone i baksetet.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAudi 80&#8217;s viktigste innovative tekniske l\u00f8sning var &laquo;Negativem Lenkrollradius&raquo;, eller negativ skrubberadius. Fabrikkens hjulvinkler skulle s\u00f8rge for at bilen holdt seg stabil under bremsing p\u00e5 ujevn veioverflate, eller ved punktering. Tidsskriftet <em>Auto Motor und Sport<\/em> satte opp en testbane med t\u00f8rr asfalt i det ene hjulsporet og ei vannsklie i det andre. S\u00e5 lot de Audien br\u00e5bremse fra 80 km\/t. Det fungerte bra.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nEn annen teknisk nyhet var plasseringen av tannstanghuset over motor og girkasse slik at styringen ikke skulle bli trykket inn i kupeen ved sammenst\u00f8t. Rattstammen var selvf\u00f8lgelig ogs\u00e5 konstruert for \u00e5 bli deformert.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAudi 80 B1 hadde da, som n\u00e5, langsstilt motor plassert langt frem over forakslingen. Radiatoren var flyttet til siden i motorrommet for ikke \u00e5 stjele plass i lengderetningen. Til tross for beskjedne ytre m\u00e5l, var bilen &laquo;godt pakket&raquo; slik at den tilb\u00f8d rimelig gode plassforhold. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Til ingen nytte<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg greidde aldri \u00e5 overtale faren min til \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe Audi 80. Mannen p\u00e5 1,92 meter fant ingen god kj\u00f8restilling i Audi og bestilte seg i stedet en ny Saab 96 V4 uken etter. Rimeligste Audi 80 L med 1,3 liters motor og 55 HK kostet vel 34 000 i 1973, &#8211; akkurat det samme som Saab&#8217;en. Audi 80 GL kostet 41 000, &#8211; samme pris som en Volvo 142.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nJeg har tatt bilder av en flott 1975 modell. Det er en L, som originalt har 1,3 liters motor p\u00e5 55 HK. De fleste valgte 1,5 liters motoren med 75 hester. Den fine GL-grillen med doble frontlykter kler bilen godt. Til tross for god teknikk, h\u00f8y kvalitet og godt design er det ikke mange B1 igjen p\u00e5 veien.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote><p>En bil som h\u00f8rer hjemme i Memory Lane.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<figure
