Det finnes likevel flere gode grunner til \u00e5 velge Mustang 4 som en hobbybil.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">En forlengelse av Fox-plattformen<\/h3>\n<p>Ford&#8217;s Fox-plattform var utviklet som et resultat av oljekrisen hvor ettersp\u00f8rselen etter mindre og lettere kj\u00f8ret\u00f8y \u00f8kte. Flere nye modeller ble lansert p\u00e5 denne plattformen, blant andre Fairmont, Thunderbird, Granada og s\u00f8stermodellen Mercury Marquis. Fox-plattformen var viktig for Ford fordi de kunne tilby modeller med 4- og 6-sylindrede motorer som kunne konkurrere med importen fra Japan og Europa. Plattformen var modul\u00e6r og gjorde at Ford kunne redusere sine utviklingskostnader. Men Fox-plattformen og nedskaleringen av modellprogrammet ble m\u00f8tt med negativ omtale, blant annet p\u00e5 grunn av uraffinert understell og for lite stivhet for biler med de st\u00f8rste motorene.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFord Mustang 4 ble lansert p\u00e5 et tidspunkt da Fox-plattformen var erstattet av andre plattformer. Fox-4 var en sterkt forbedret utgave av Fox-plattformen, blant annet mye stivere og bedre egnet for biler som Ford Mustang. Innledningsvis ar motorutvalget 3.8 V6 (Essex) for standard Mustang og 5.0 liter V8 for GT &#8211; samme som forgjengeren hadde. I 1996 fikk bilene en ny V8-motor. Ford 4.6 Modular V8 ble benyttet i flere modeller og har etter hvert f\u00e5tt et godt rennomm\u00e9 for holdbarhet.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFra \u00e5rsmodvell 1999 fikk Mustang 4 en facelift som kan v\u00e6re vanskelig \u00e5 se ved f\u00f8rste \u00f8yekast. Visuelle endringer omfattet blant annet st\u00f8rre hjulbuer og skarpere profiler i karosseriet. Endringene ble markedsf\u00f8rt som &laquo;New edge&raquo;.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Varianter<\/h3>\n<p>Mustang 4 (SN-95) ble produsert som coup\u00e9 med fast tak eller convertible. GT-varianten hadde V8, stivere fj\u00e6ring og st\u00f8rre felger. SVT Cobra SVT Cobra(Special Vehicle Team) fikk redusert vekt, flere hestekrefter og masse trim. Det laget flere spesialvarianter og kampanjemodeller. Blant brosjyremateriell finner man en stor kampanje for \u00e5 markere 35-\u00e5rs jubileet til Ford Mustang.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24667\" formidlet at det har v\u00e6rt \u00f8kt interesse for Mustang 3, den f\u00f8rste Fox-modellen. Alle Mustang vil f\u00f8r eller senere bli klassikere. Mustang 4 med intern betegnelse SN-95 har en rekke positive sider som gj\u00f8r den til en interessant hobbybil for entusiaster. En GT med 4.6 V8-motor i facelifted utgave er en vakker og velmotorisert bil. Bilene er moderne utenfor mye hi-tech hvor det er mulig \u00e5 gj\u00f8re mye vedlikehold selv. Og det beste av alt, er at prisene etter 20-25 n\u00e5 er prisene p\u00e5 bunn. Det er p\u00e5 dette tidspunktet man skiller mellom bevaringsverdige og ikke-bevaringsverdige biler. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Om bildene<\/h3>\n<p>Den gule bilen i hovedvinduet er en 2003 Ford Mustang GT med 4.6 V8. Den deltok i en amerikansk feiring av Independence Day i Frognerparken, Oslo, 2024. Den r\u00f8de bilen uten registreringsnummer ble fotografert p\u00e5 en offentlig parkeringsplass i Vikersund hvor den har st\u00e5tt i flere \u00e5r. Men bilen har luft i dekkene og rengjort, s\u00e5 den er neppe forlatt uten tilsyn. Den r\u00f8de bilen med Cobra dekaler var med i et biltreff for Ford Mustang hos forhandleren R\u00f8hneSelmer p\u00e5 Billingstad i 2019. If\u00f8lge opplysninger i kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yregistreret kan bilen v\u00e6re en SVT Cobra f\u00f8rstegangs registrert i 2000.
