FR, 2016).<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Viktig modell for Peugeot<\/h3>\n<p>P\u00e5 50- og 60-tallet var ikke Peugeots modellprogram like mangfoldig som i dag. Da Peugeot 404 ble lansert i 1960, besto personbilutvalget av 403 i forskjellige varianter samt forgjengeren 203. Franske bilprodusenter produserer gjerne ny og gammel modell parallelt i en overgangsperiode, hvor den utg\u00e5ende modellen selges med en prisfordel. Rekken av viktige modeller best\u00e5r av 203, 403, 404 og 504. Forgjengeren, 403, var veldig popul\u00e6r. Forventningene til 404 var enorme. Pininfarina sto for formgivningen med de rette linjene som ble avsluttet med rette, markerte finner bak. Det kan v\u00e6re vanskelig \u00e5 fastsl\u00e5 \u00e5rsmodell kun ved \u00e5 studere bilen. Det finnes sm\u00e5 ytre kjennetegns som for eksempel at bilene i 1964 fikk st\u00f8tfangerhorn i gummi, og at blinklys foran fikk oransje glass i 1966. I 1967 ble instrumentpanelet endret fra liggende speedometer til tre separate klokker. I 1968 lanserte Peugeot en ny modell av 404, kalt 404\/8 Confort. Standard motorer uten injection ga 72 hK. Biler med f\u00f8rste generasjon injection-system ga 85 HK &#8211; fra 1965 96 HK. Confort-utgaven fikk en litt mindre motor, 1,5 liter med 60 HK. Effektreduksjonen gjorde at modellen kom i en lavere skatteklasse i Frankrike.
