Hvis man skal peke ut modellen med det mest s\u00e6regne designet, m\u00e5 det bli denne &#8211; Toyota Crown S60.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Toyota Crown S60 ble satt i produksjon i februar 1971 som etterf\u00f8lger etter Crown S50. Bilene med 4-d\u00f8rer kunne leveres med f\u00f8lgende motoralternativer: 2.0 liter 4-sylindre 98hk, 2.0 rekkesekser, 2.3 rekkesekser og 2.6 rekkesekser 140hk. Det fantes ogs\u00e5 en 2-d\u00f8rers hardtop coup\u00e9 (S70) og en 5-d\u00f8rers stasjonsvogn. Et raskt overblikk over biler tidligere oppf\u00f8rt i kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yregisteret, viser at den mest utbredte varianten var 4-d\u00f8rer med 2-liters motoren p\u00e5 98hk. De var popul\u00e6re blant taxi-eiere. Nest popul\u00e6r var 4-d\u00f8rer med 2,6 liters rekkesekser. I utstyrsgrad <em>Super Saloon<\/em> var det en riktig luksusbil &#8211; en fin representasjonsbil.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nModellen fikk en facelift for modell\u00e5r 1973. Synlige endringer er blant annet st\u00f8rre grill og chrome rundt frontlyktene. Allerede i september 1974 ble Toyota Crown S60 og S70 avl\u00f8st av S80. I bilens hjemland, Japan, fikk modellen kalletnavnet <em>Hvalen<\/em>. Det var spesielt fasongen p\u00e5 Hardtop Coup\u00e9 varianten som kunne minne om en hval. Den spesielle fronten kunne kanskje ligne p\u00e5 en hvalkjeft (eller breiflabb). Her er det likheter til amerikanske Ford Thunderbird mk5 fra 1967-1971.
