Toyota Crown S40 ble st\u00f8rre, mer luksuri\u00f8s med en lekker utforming som en amerikansk bil. Ikke s\u00e5 merkelig at den ble Toyotas f\u00f8rste eksportmodell.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n

Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n

Modellen ble satt i produksjon p\u00e5 h\u00f8sten 1962 som \u00e5rsmodell 1963. Siste \u00e5rsmodell var 1967. Man kan si at S40 var mer «Crown» enn sin forgjenger. Den var st\u00f8rre, mer luksuri\u00f8s og fikk st\u00f8rre motorer. Bilene var bygget p\u00e5 ramme og hadde en linjef\u00f8ring som minnet om amerikanske biler. S40 ble Toyotas f\u00f8rste eksportmodell. Motorene i de f\u00f8rste bilene var en 4-sylindret motor p\u00e5 1.9 liter. Senere, i 1965, ble motorprogrammet supplert med to rekkesekser-motorer – \u00e9n p\u00e5 2.0 liter og \u00e9n p\u00e5 2.3 liter. Det ble laget 3 varianter – sedan, stasjonsvogn og pickup. Det var 3 utstyrsniv\u00e5er, med Deluxe<\/em> og Super Deluxe<\/em> som de best utstyrte.<\/p>\n
