Modellnavnet <em>Super Snipe<\/em> har eksistert siden krigen, men den modellen som vises her, ble bygget fra modell\u00e5r 1959 til og med 1967. I likhet med sine forgjengere var det en stor bil for sin tid. Stor og stor. Med lengde p\u00e5 4,70 var den omtrent like stor som dagens mellomklassebiler, men med stor akselavstand ble det god benplass i baksetet &#8211; og bilen egnet seg derfor fint som representasjonsbil. Utvendig kan man skille dem p\u00e5 f\u00f8lgende m\u00e5te etter \u00e5rsmodell: Fra 1959 &#8211; enkle frontlykter og grill, fra 1960 &#8211; ny grill, fra 1961 &#8211; doble frontlykter og grill med ribber som krummer rundt hj\u00f8rnene, fra 1963 &#8211; bakrute med litt mindre krumming, fra 1965 &#8211; helt omarbeidet glasshus uten krummede panoramaruter og ekstra trekantvinduer i bakre sideruter (som Hillman Super Minx III). Den avbildede bilen er en Super Snipe III som i f\u00f8lge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.automobile-catalog.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Automobile-Catalog.com<\/strong><\/a> har en 3 liters rekkesekser som yter 125 HK med 3-trinns girkasse og overdrive (Laycock de normanville &#8211; tilleggsvalg). Den avbildede Humber Super Snipe har historie fra Vestfold. F\u00f8rste eier var skipsreder Lorentzen, og bilen ble kj\u00f8pt ny p\u00e5 Vestfold Auto som da var forhandler for Rootes\/Chrysler og SAAB. Senere har bilen g\u00e5tt i T\u00f8nsberg-omr\u00e5det. Dette er ikke bare en bevaringsverdig bil, men et stykke norsk bilhistorie.
