Modellene appellerte til personer som var mer interessert i biler og bilkj\u00f8ring enn gjennomsnittet. Nummer 5 i serien ble produsert fra midten av 1996 som \u00e5rsmodell 1997 til 2001. Den fikk ingen etterf\u00f8lger. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellutvalg<\/h3>\n<p>Prelude var en verdensbil som ble produsert for alle verdensdeler. I Europa fikk den to motorvalg, 2,0i 133hk og 2,2 VTi 185hk med variabel ventilstyring. Modellen kom med en facelift i 1999. Jeg har ikke funnet noen ytre endringer mellom de to seriene, men fra 1999 fikk VTi-motoren 200hk og 4WS 4-hjulsstyring som Honda ogs\u00e5 tilb\u00f8d i flere modeller. Det er faktisk n\u00e5 man m\u00e5 ta stilling til om Prelude 5 er en klassiker eller ei. Den som taler <em>for<\/em>, er at den har mange av de egenskapene som gjorde Honda popul\u00e6r fra 1970-\u00e5rene til i dag. Vakker, enkel, holdbar med sv\u00e6rt gode motorer og gode kj\u00f8reegenskaper. I likhet med andre bilprodusenter har Honda i nyere tid dreid modellprogrammet sitt i retning av praktiske, h\u00f8ybygde modeller hvor <em>plass<\/em> g\u00e5r foran <em>form<\/em>. Honda kom sent inn p\u00e5 markedet med elbiler. Omlegging til elbil-teknologi kommer dessverre til \u00e5 eliminere ett av Hondas st\u00f8rste fortrinn, nemlig motorteknologien. Honda Prelude 5 st\u00e5r derfor igjen som en av de siste &laquo;old school&raquo; Honda-modellene. Honda Civic, Prelude og Accord fra 1970- og 80-tallet er utvilsomt klassikere i dag, og vi b\u00f8r nok ta vare p\u00e5 gode eksemplarer av disse modellene et par ti\u00e5r til.
