(Kjeller 2022)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I 1977 besluttet Porsche \u00e5 satse p\u00e5 biler med vannavkj\u00f8lte frontmontert motorer med transaksel-l\u00f8sning og bakhjulstrekk. De trodde i fullt alvor at ettersp\u00f8rselen etter 911 ville forsvinne.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>Da 928 kom p\u00e5 markedet i 1978 var som et nytt kapittel i Porsches modellhistorie. Porsches ledelse hadde lenge jobbet med nye modeller som skulle erstatte 911-serien. Dette foregikk i samme tidsepoke som Volkswagen fikk gjennombrudd med sitt nye modellprogram. Porsches frontmotoriserte biler, 924, 944 og 928, var en vellykket satsning, men kundene fortsatte likevel \u00e5 str\u00f8mme til 911. Flere entusiaster hevdet at det kun var hekkmotoriserte Porscher som kunne regnes som ordentlige Porscher. Bilen ble k\u00e5ret til &laquo;\u00c5rets bil&raquo; i Europa i 1978 &#8211; sitt f\u00f8rste modell\u00e5r. Den hadde et karakteristisk design med d\u00f8rer, framskjermer og motorpanser bygget i aluminium, popup frontlys og coole felger. V8-motor foran og girkasse i transaksel bak ga n\u00e6r 50:50 vektfordeling. De f\u00f8rste motorene var 4.5 liter med 240 hk. Fra 1980 kunne man f\u00e5 928 S med 4.7 liter V8 med 300 hk &#8211; som fra 1980 ble standard. Tenk over at den kostet over 600.000 1981-kroner da den var ny, eller vel 10 standard Golfer. Da fikk du to sm\u00e5 bakseter uten nakkest\u00f8tte, egnet for veldig sm\u00e5 mennesker.
