Motoren var den samme 1700-motoren som hadde sittet i Consul 375, men hadde n\u00e5 f\u00e5tt \u00f8kt output til 65 hk. En enkel grill r\u00f8per at bilen ble levert med en 4-sylindret motor. Zephyr 6 fikk bredere grill som strakk seg helt rundt frontlysene. Rekkesekseren ga n\u00e5 99 hk for Zephyr Six og 109 hk for Zodiac. Zodiac mk3 fikk ikke bare bred grill, men ogs\u00e5 doble frontlys p\u00e5 hver side og bredt chrome-belte under baklysene. Modellene var kraftig omarbeidet fra mk2, blant annet med st\u00f8rre finner bak og total lengde \u00f8kt med 18 cm for 4-sylindrede biler og 23 cm for de 6-sylindrede bilene.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2_first\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Mk3 ble produsert mellom 1962 og 1966. I likhet med forgjengeren ble bilene en stor suksess, spesielt i Storbritannia. Den korte tiden i produksjon skyldtes nok noe at biler med hekkfinner ikke lenger var moderne, men ogs\u00e5 at Ford \u00f8nsket en ny modell for sine nye V4- og V6-motorer. Dessverre ble etterf\u00f8lgeren etter mk3 ikke s\u00e6rlig godt mottatt i markedet. Det ble rapportert om d\u00e5rlige kj\u00f8reegenskaper og d\u00e5rlig kvalitet. Mk3, derimot, hadde blitt sv\u00e6rt grundig testet og gjennomg\u00e5tt f\u00f8r produksjonen startet. N\u00e5r man bygger om ferdigproduserte biler, er det et m\u00e5l \u00e5 gj\u00f8re s\u00e5 f\u00e5 forandringer\/tillegg som mulig.
