Basismodellen ble fortsatt kalt <em>Consul<\/em>. Den hadde det enkleste utstyrsniv\u00e5et og 4-sylindret motor. Utvendig kan man kjenne den igjen p\u00e5 den halvm\u00e5neformede grillen. Dyrere modeller har en forh\u00f8yning p\u00e5 grillen og mer chrome. Zephyr fikk 6-sylindret motor &#8211; en rekkesekser p\u00e5 2,6 liter. Zodiac var toppmodellen i serien med samme drivverk som Zephyr men mer utstyr og chrome. Den kan gjenkjennes p\u00e5 utformingen at den \u00f8vre delen av grillen som er utformet som en leppe, &#8211; og chrome-beltet mellom baklysene.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Mk2 ble produsert mellom 1956 og 1962. Det ble gjort flere endringer i denne tiden. Fra 1960-modellen kunne man velge en ny karosserifasong med senket taklinje, kalt <em>Lowline<\/em>. Hvis man kun ser \u00e9n bil, er det vanskelig \u00e5 fastsl\u00e5 om det er Highline eller Lowline. Men Lowline-modellen kan ogs\u00e5 gjenkjennes ved at midjelisten strekker seg helt til baklysene, og at baklysene har f\u00e5tt et sirkelformet &laquo;katt\u00f8ye&raquo; nederst. Zephyr og Zodiac fikk rekkesekser med 87 hk.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nVerdt \u00e5 nevne er ogs\u00e5 at ogs\u00e5 mk2 Zephyr-biler ble sendt til ekstern karosserimaker -ED Abbott i Surrey &#8211; for ombygging til stasjonsvogn med sidehengslet bakd\u00f8r.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Bilene i dag<\/h3>\n<p>Mk2 Consul, Zephyr og Zodiac var popul\u00e6re i Norge. Flere gikk som drosje, eller tjenestebiler. De var vakre 6-setere som minnet om amerikanske Ford p\u00e5 samme tid. Dessverre ble de fleste bilene kj\u00f8rt til det ikke var noe igjen av dem. Mange havnet som ungdomsbiler. Jeg vet ikke hvor mange biler som er igjen. Jeg tipper at det dreier seg om cirka 50-60 biler samt noen l\u00e5vefunn rundt omkring. Et s\u00f8k p\u00e5 <em>ebay.com<\/em> viser at det fremdeles finnes slitasjedeler til salgs.
