Triumph Motor Company bygde fine biler frem til krigen. Da ble lokalene i Coventry \u00f8delagt. Selskapet ble kj\u00f8pt opp av Standard Motor Company, men Triumph ble fortsatt produsert som eget merke. I 1960 ble Standard kj\u00f8pt opp av Leyland Motors.
