Selv om Triumph Herald var en snerten bil, var den ikke utpreget feminin. Med st\u00f8tfangerhorn som en underbitt terrier og rette, skarpe linjer, var den litt eksotisk og t\u00f8ff. Lydbildet bidro til det, selv om motorene var sm\u00e5 etter dagens standard. En annen ting jeg syntes var t\u00f8ft. var at man f\u00e5r adgang til motoren ved \u00e5 vippe frem hele fronten, akkurat som p\u00e5 en italiensk sportsbil. Triumph Herald var da ogs\u00e5 formgitt av italienske Giovanni Michelotti, som tidligere har tegnet for ingen ringere enn Ferrari og Maserati.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Motorisering<\/h3>\n<p>Triumph Herald er en relativt enkel konstruksjon, godt egnet for renovering p\u00e5 et rimelig budsjett. Den har ramme hvor karosseriet er boltet fast i flere deler. Da bilen ble lansert i 1959, kunne den leveres med en 1,0 liters motor med 35 HK eller 1200-motor med 39 HK. Jeg er ikke sikker p\u00e5 om begge ble tilbudt i Norge. I 1963 kom 12\/50-varianten med 1200-motor og 50 HK. Den ble erstattet I 1967 av 13\/60 &#8211; 1300 cc med 61 HK. Jeg kan huske en nabo i min barndom som kj\u00f8rte Herald med fast tak\/hardtop om vinteren og uten tak om sommeren. Jeg tror han sa &#8211; at han hadde skrudd av taket, men er usikker p\u00e5 om dette var vanlig. Triumph Herald kunne ogs\u00e5 leveres som coup\u00e9 med softtop og hardtop, samt i en 2-d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn. Jeg kan ikke huske \u00e5 ha sett verken coup\u00e9 eller stasjonsvognen som nye i Norge, men jeg har sett dem i England. Triumph Herald ble produsert til og med 1970, og 1971 for Vitesse.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Som hobbybil<\/h3>\n<p>Man kan vel si at Triumph Herald er ganske sofistikert i sin enkelhet. Skal du restaurere en bil, kan du frigj\u00f8re rammen og bygge opp understellet, montere drivverket og karosseriplatene akkurat som p\u00e5 en bilfabrikk. Fj\u00e6ringen foran er doble A-armer med spiralfj\u00e6rer. Bak er det et arrangement med svingaksler og tverrmontert bladfj\u00e6r med teleskop-dempere. Det finnes fine bilder av det p\u00e5 nettet. Fordelen er at det gir nesten full uavhengig fj\u00e6ring av bakhjulene. Samme bakhjulsoppheng ble brukt i Triumph GT6. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2ingreslbcenter\">Triumph Herald 12\/50<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_56355\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56355\"
