Nye Skoda 100 og 110 var ikke alene om \u00e5 fortsette p\u00e5 dette konseptet. De var i samme b\u00e5s som Volkswagen og Porsche.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2_first\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Skoda 100 og 110 var i stor grad basert p\u00e5 forgjengerne 1000 MB og 1100 MB. Karosserimessig var de nesten helt like. Det var kun fronten og bakenden som var forandret. Begge motorene hadde f\u00e5tt \u00f8kt effekt. Motoren i Skoda 100 ga n\u00e5 42 HK og i Skoda 110 52 HK. Selv om de tekniske og visuelle endringene ikke var s\u00e6rlig store, fortsatte Skoda \u00e5 selge godt. I Vest-Europeiske land &laquo;konkurrerte&raquo; Skoda med Citroen 2CV om \u00e5 v\u00e6re billigste bilmodell. Skoda ga mye bil for pengene, og var kjent for \u00e5 v\u00e6re enkle og solide. En faktor som jeg tror bidro til \u00e5 holde salget oppe, var introduksjonen av en ny coup\u00e9-modell. Denne var langt mer spennende enn den utg\u00e5ende 1100 MBX. Nye Skoda 110 R med skikkelig fastback-profil er etter mine \u00f8yne den vakreste Skoda som noen  sinne er laget. Forholdene for n\u00e6ringslivet i tidligere Tsjekkoslovakia ble forverret etter Warschawapaktens invasjon i 1968. Nesten alle beslutninger skulle overpr\u00f8ves av kommunistiske ledere. Flere bilmodeller fra \u00d8stblokken ble regnet som mindreverdige i Vesten. Skoda greidde seg likevel bedre enn for eksempel Trabant og Moskvich. Selv om Skodas modeller begynte \u00e5 trekke p\u00e5 \u00e5rene, var kvaliteten p\u00e5 h\u00f8yde med europeiske bilmodeller p\u00e5 samme tid. Dessverre er det vanskelig \u00e5 finne brukbare biler igjen i dag. Skoda var generelt ikke elsket blant bilentusiaster, og f\u00e5 hadde interesse av \u00e5 ta vare p\u00e5 bilene for fremtiden.
