Bilene fikk fort rykte for \u00e5 v\u00e6re umoderne, kjedelige og d\u00e5rlig sammenskrudd. Skoda 1000 MB var neppe dr\u00f8mmebil for noen, men gjorde at Skoda overlevde kommunist-tiden.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Led under vanskelige k\u00e5r<\/h3>\n<p>Du har sikkert h\u00f8rt &#8211; <em>&laquo;hvorfor kj\u00f8pe Skoda n\u00e5r man kan g\u00e5 da?&raquo;<\/em>. Sp\u00f8r du noen som har levd en stund, vil de advare mot \u00e5 kj\u00f8pe Skoda. \u00c9n av \u00e5rsakene til at Skoda fikk et d\u00e5rlig rykte, var folks negative innstilling til \u00d8stblokken. Men man skal heller ikke se bort fra d\u00e5rlig ledelse, samt at \u00f8steuropeisk n\u00e6ringsliv bel\u00f8nnet <em>politisk<\/em> lojalitet fremfor faglig dyktighet. Da Skoda 1000 MB dukket opp i 1964, var det en moderne bil for sin tid &#8211; og ganske vakker. Understellet var mer dynamisk enn mange av konkurrentene p\u00e5 samme tid. Motorblokken var st\u00f8pt i aluminium for ikke \u00e5 gj\u00f8re bilen for baktung. I Vest-Europa kunne bilene selges langt billigere enn andre biler i samme st\u00f8rrelse, &#8211; skj\u00f8nt i bilens hjemland, tidligere Tsjekkoslovakia, ble Skoda alt for dyr for folk flest. Den vannavkj\u00f8lte 4-sylindrede 1000 cc motoren ga 36 HK. Fra 1967 kunne man f\u00e5 Skoda 1100 MB med 44 HK. Girkassa hadde 4 trinn. Fra 1966 kunne Skoda levere en 2 d\u00f8rer coup\u00e9 variant basert p\u00e5 MB-serien. Den ble kalt MBX. Jeg tror ikke den ble tatt inn til Norge. I l\u00f8pet av produksjonstiden fikk modellen en ny front hvor den forkrommede grillrammen ble erstattet av en horisontal kromlist foran p\u00e5 frontdekselet og en blank horisontal list i &laquo;grillen&raquo;. Jeg er ikke sikker p\u00e5 eksakt n\u00e5r denne endringen ble gjennomf\u00f8rt, men omkring midtveis 1967. Jeg har ogs\u00e5 observert ulike luftinntak p\u00e5 sidene, men vet ikke om de f\u00f8lger \u00e5rsmodell eller utstyrsvariant. Skoda-motorene kunne lett bli overopphetet. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skoda MB-serie i dag<\/h3>\n<p>Selv om biler, som Skoda 1000 MB, har h\u00f8y nostalgifaktor, er det f\u00e5 som tar inn biler fra utlandet, eller restaurerer. Det er f\u00e5 eksemplarer i kj\u00f8rbar stand, da ofte biler som er lite kj\u00f8rt og pent behandlet. Jeg har ikke greidd \u00e5 finne ut eksakt hvor mange biler som fortsatt har skilter, men det eksisterer noen titalls biler som i hvert fall ikke er skrotet. De fleste 1000 MB.
