Jeg trodde at Lincoln Continental mk5 kun besto av Town Car og Town Coup\u00e9. Disse var toppmodellene og kjennetegnes ved at de har vinyltak eller landau-tak. Town Car var en typisk ambassadebil eller limousin med egen sj\u00e5f\u00f8r. I flere \u00e5r etter at USA hadde begynt \u00e5 nedskalere bilparken, tronet Lincoln p\u00e5 toppen med verdens st\u00f8rste serieproduserte bilmodell. Lincoln Continental ble ogs\u00e5 produsert som «bare» Continental – uten Town Car betegnelsen. Lincoln Continental mk5 kunne leveres med 460 (7,5 liter) V8 eller 400 (6,6 liter) V8.<\/p>\n

Lincoln Continental Presidential<\/h3>\n

Bilen p\u00e5 bildene over er en Lincoln Continental (Town Car) Presidential. En personlig hilsen p\u00e5 bagasjelokket fra selveste Bill Clinton vitner om hvilke celebre passasjerer som en gang har befunnet seg i baksetet. V\u00e5rt eget kongehus har ved flere anledninger valgt Lincoln. Da Kong Olav fylte 80 \u00e5r, fikk han en bil i gave fra det norske folk. Som tidligere, valgte han ogs\u00e5 n\u00e5 amerikansk, \u2013 en kongebl\u00e5 Lincoln Town Car. Den skal visstnok leve trygt og godt i Tr\u00f8ndelag et sted. La oss forresten heller ikke glemme kronprinsparet \u2013 som valgte en \u00e5pen klassisk Lincoln Continental som bryllupsbil, – akkurat som kong Harald og dronning Sonja gjorde da de giftet seg i 1968. <\/p>\n
