Vel kjenner vi modellene best uten Consul-betegnelsen, men hva var vitsen med \u00e5 ha flere modeller i samme klasse? Corsair regnes som en halv klasse over Cortina, og mer premium enn Cortina. I britiske prislister for 1964 kunne man sammenligne f\u00f8lgende modeller og priser (i stigende rekkef\u00f8lge):<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<code>Ford Cortina 1200 Deluxe 2 d\u00f8rer: &nbsp;\u00a3494<br \/>\nFord Cortina 1500 Deluxe 2 d\u00f8rer: &nbsp;\u00a3509<br \/>\nFord Cortina 1500 Super&nbsp; 2 d\u00f8rer: &nbsp;\u00a3554<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: yellow;\">Ford Corsair 1500 Deluxe 2 d\u00f8rer: &nbsp;\u00a3560<\/div>\n<p><\/code><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nPrisene p\u00e5 Corsair fortsatte der Cortina sluttet, for \u00e5 dekke mellomrommet opp til Ford Zephyr 4. Jeg har kun v\u00e6rt passasjer i Corsair, og opplevde den som en lunere bil enn Cortina. Den hadde et mer dempet st\u00f8yniv\u00e5 og et mer p\u00e5kostet interi\u00f8r. Corsair har dessuten 8 cm lengre akselavstand som gir tilsvarende \u00f8kt benplass i kupeen. Det ble gjort endringer i motortilbud og interi\u00f8r, men sv\u00e6rt lite p\u00e5 eksteri\u00f8ret. Fra 1963 til og med 1965 fikk Corsair samme 1500-motor som Cortina mk1, men fra modell\u00e5r 1966 fikk den Ford&#8217;s 1700 Essex V4-motor, senere ogs\u00e5 2000 V4. Engelske V4-motorer er ikke helt kompatible med tyske motorer, ofte omtalt som <em>Essex V4<\/em> og <em>K\u00f8ln V4<\/em>. Mitt inntrykk av et lunere lydbilde henger dels sammen med at Corsair nok var bedre lydisolert enn Cortina, men ogs\u00e5 den dypere klangen i V4 sammenlignet med Cortina&#8217;s 1500-motor. Corsair ble laget i 2- og 4 d\u00f8rer varianter. Det skal ogs\u00e5 ha v\u00e6rt laget en stasjonsvogn av Corsair, skj\u00f8nt den figurerer ikke i prislistene for 1964. utstyrsvarianter var <em>Standard<\/em>, <em>Deluxe<\/em> og <em>GT<\/em>.
