Den ordin\u00e6re coupeen en en targa-l\u00f8sning med avtagbar takplate som kan plasseres i bagasjerommet. Fixed Roof Coupe har en rak profil, klar notch-back i profil. &laquo;Fixed&raquo; betyr at taket ikke er avtagbart. Motorene var basert p\u00e5 GM&#8217;s velkjente 350 V8. Som f\u00f8rste Corvette-modell fikk C5 girkasse montert rett p\u00e5 drivakslene bak, en s\u00e5kalt transaksell\u00f8sning.
