Jeg leste om den f\u00f8rste gang i tyske <em>Auto Motor und Sport<\/em>. Jeg syntes den nye modellen virket mindre enn forgjengeren. Men lengde og akselavstand var nesten uforandret. Likes\u00e5 utseendet. Ford hadde fanget opp mange av trekkene fra gamle Escort mk2 og \u00f8vrige Ford-modeller som gjorde at eksisterende kunder kunne f\u00f8le seg trygge p\u00e5 den nye bilen. \u00c5ret etter ble XR3 lansert, noe som bidro til \u00e5 gj\u00f8re den nye Escort-serien enda mer attraktiv. Og med XR3 hadde Escort gode kort i konkurransen mot Volkswagen Golf og Opel Kadett.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Ford Escort mk3 ble satt i produksjon fra september 1980 for modell\u00e5ret 1981. Modellen ble erstattet av mk4 allerede i 1986, skj\u00f8nt mk4 kunne like gjerne ha v\u00e6rt en facelift. Utstyrsgradene var L, GL og Ghia. Modellvariantene var 3 d\u00f8rer, 5 d\u00f8rer kombicoupe, 3 &#8211; og etter hvert 5 d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn, samt 2 d\u00f8rer cabriolet. Alle motorene til mk3 var nye &#8211; Ford <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ford_CVH_engine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CVH<\/strong><\/a>. Popul\u00e6re motorer var 1,1 50 HK, 1,3 69 HK og 1,6 71 HK 1981 og 1982 \u00e5rsmodell og 79 HK for senere \u00e5rsmodeller. XR3 fikk 1,6 trimmet til 95 HK. Fra \u00e5rsmodell 1983 (oktober 1982) ble XR3i lansert. 1,6-motoren med injection ga 105 HK. Disse dukket opp som 1983-modeller og ga mye bil for pengene, men rustet dessverre alt for fort. Advarslene var mange. Mange av oss skj\u00f8nte hvor dette bar hen. Ford er vel Ford, eller&#8230;? Escort LX hadde et t\u00f8ft LX-klistremerke bak, men disse bilene trengte ikke noe eget kjennemerke. Deres kjennemerke var brune rustbobler.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Som hobbybil<\/h3>\n<p>P\u00e5 europeiske bilb\u00f8rser finnes det fremdeles nesten rustfrie biler med lav km-stand til salgs. Mange av disse er bestemor-kj\u00f8rte biler med 1,1 liters motorer til hyggelige priser. Flere annonser frister med at dette er glimrende objekter for ombygging til XR3 og RS. Ford Escort mk3 har ikke samme kultstatus som Volkswagen Golf 1 og 2 produsert p\u00e5 samme tid. F\u00e5r du tak i en pen mk3 kan du like gjerne bygge den om og ha litt moro med den. Ambi\u00f8se eiere med litt ekstra penger p\u00e5 kontoen kan bygge om til RS eller RS turbo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52285\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52285\"
