En av disse var Consul 315. Modellen ble produsert kun i en kort periode  mellom 1961 og 1963. Ble den avsluttet tidlig fordi bakrute-konseptet hadde g\u00e5tt av moten?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2_first\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Consul var ingen ny modellbetegnelse for britisk Ford. Ford Consul hadde v\u00e6rt produsert i flere utgaver helt siden 1951 frem til Consul 315 ble lansert. Den var utstyrt med skivebremser og doble frontlykter. F\u00f8rste produksjons\u00e5r fikk bilene en 1340 ccm OHV motor. Fra 1962 fikk bilene en 1,5 liters motor som senere ble videref\u00f8rt som motoralternativ i Ford Cortina. Da Ford Cortina kom i 1962, fikk den modellbetegnelsen &laquo;Consul Cortina&raquo;. B\u00e5de Cortina og Corsair regnes som etterf\u00f8lgere etter Consul 315.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skr\u00e5 bakrute<\/h3>\n<p>Fra 1959 hadde Ford begynt \u00e5 utforme modeller med innoverskr\u00e5nende bakrute. Konseptet ble arvet fra amerikanske modeller som Ford Galaxie 500, Mercury Monterey og Lincoln Continental. Sett med dagens \u00f8yne ser Consul 315 meget stilfull &#8211; og etter min mening ser den finest ut bakfra. Men det var ikke bakruten som gjorde at modellen ble avsluttet tidlig. Det var fordi den skal ha v\u00e6rt for kostbar \u00e5 produsere sammenlignet med konkurrentene. Consul 315 var ikke d\u00e5rlige biler.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2ingreslbcenter\">Consul Capri<\/h3>\n<p>En 2 d\u00f8rer Coup\u00e9-modellen ble kalt <em>Consul Capri<\/em> &#8211; eller <em>Consul 335<\/em>. Den hadde samme front som sedanmodellene, men bakruten skr\u00e5net &laquo;riktig vei&raquo; og ingen midtstolpe. Motorene var de samme som ble levert til 2- og 4-d\u00f8rer sedanmodeller. Fra 1963 kunne man f\u00e5 en GT-versjon med trimmet 1340 ccm motor.
