Den Rapid vi ser her, dukket opp p\u00e5 h\u00f8sten 1984 som en Coup\u00e9-variant av Skodas 120-serie og oppf\u00f8lger til Skoda Garde.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skoda Garde<\/h3>\n<p>Skoda Garde ble produsert fra 1981 til 1984 som forl\u00f8per til Rapid. De to modellene er s\u00e5pass like at det handler mer om en facelift enn ny modell. Modellene deler ogs\u00e5 samme interne typenummer 743. Rapid l\u00e5ter utvilsomt bedre enn Garde. Ikke vet jeg, men n\u00e5r jeg s\u00f8ker i kj\u00f8ret\u00f8yregisteret, finner jeg ingen spor etter Skoda Garde i Norge, men flere Skoda <em>Rapid<\/em> registrert i samme periode. Lenge trodde jeg at alle coupeene basert p\u00e5 Skoda 120- og 130-serien ble kalt &laquo;Rapid&raquo;. Kanskje de gjorde det &#8211; kanskje i Norge? P\u00e5 europeiske bilb\u00f8rser derimot omtales nemlig den f\u00f8rste serien kun som &laquo;Garde&raquo;.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Motorer<\/h3>\n<p>Motorprogrammet fulgte sedanmodellene. Den f\u00f8rste modellen, Skoda Garde, ble levert med 1,2 motor fra sedanmodellen Skoda 120. De f\u00f8rste utgavene av Rapid arvet samme motor. Motoren ytet 54 HK. Senere fikk Rapid 1,3 motorer fra Skodas 130-serie som etter hvert ogs\u00e5 kunne leveres som 135 og 136 med samme motorvolum men med flere hestekrefter og 5 gir. Da snakker vi om 58 til 62 HK. Biler med 1,3 motorer fikk typebetegnelse 747 &#8211; og produksjonen ble flyttet tilbake til Tsjekkia.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Made in Bratislava<\/h3>\n<p>Jeg vil gjerne trekke inn BAZ &#8211; Bratislava Automobilfabrikk. De produserte nemlig Skoda Garde fra 1982 og Skoda Rapid fra 1984. Da modellen fikk 1,3 motor (type 747), ble produksjonen alts\u00e5 flyttet til Tsjekkia. Jeg s\u00e5 modellene p\u00e5 Transporthistorisk Museum i Bratislava. BAZ b\u00e5de utviklet og produserte biler for Skoda, senere for Volkswagen. Slovakerne er sv\u00e6rt stolte av sin bilproduksjon. Dessverre fikk Skoda&#8217;ene som ble produsert i Bratislava tidlig p\u00e5 80-tallet, d\u00e5rlig omd\u00f8mme for kvalitet. If\u00f8lge slovakerne skyldtes dette d\u00e5rlig kommunikasjon fra hovedfabrikken. Skoda Locusta, t.h. Skoda Garde<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">BAZ Locusta<\/h3>\n<p>I 1982 presenterte Bratislava BAZ en ny modell basert p\u00e5 Skoda Garde, kalt Locusta. Det var et fors\u00f8k p\u00e5 \u00e5 lage en fornyet versjon av Garde\/Rapid som jo var basert p\u00e5 aldrende teknologi. Locusta skulle utstyres med en frontmontert, forhjulsdrevet 1,1 motor p\u00e5 54 HK fra Fiat\/Zastava &#8211; samme kraft som Skodas dav\u00e6rende 1,2 motor. Bortsett fra nytt drivverk, fikk modellen en ny, moderne, skr\u00e5stilt front med en &laquo;onepiece&raquo; grill og st\u00f8tfanger &#8211; som minnet om Opel Kadett E som kom et par \u00e5r senere. Men Locusta kom aldri i produksjon. Skoda valgte \u00e5 fortsette modellprogrammet sitt med hekkmotoriserte biler &#8211; som i dette tilfellet ble &laquo;nye&raquo; Rapid. Rapid kunne ha blitt byttet ut med den mer moderne Locusta, men erfaringene og teknologien fra Locusta-prosjektet ble trolig i stedet videref\u00f8rt til Skodas neste modell &#8211;  Skoda Favorit. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Skoda Rapid i dag<\/h3>\n<p>If\u00f8lge nettstedet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howmanyleft.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>howmanyleft.co.uk<\/strong><\/a> skal det kun befinne seg noen-og-femti Skoda Rapid igjen p\u00e5 britiske veier. Rapid fremst\u00e5r som et mer egnet samleobjekt enn sine sedanmodeller, dels p\u00e5 grunn av sitt flotte utseende, men ogs\u00e5 fordi det var Skodas toppmodell p\u00e5 den tiden. Dessverre led bilene av \u00e5 v\u00e6re et lavstatus bilmerke som f\u00e5 tok vare p\u00e5. Med tanke p\u00e5 hvor popul\u00e6r Skoda er i dag, er det liten tvil om at en velholdt gammel-skoda kan bli verdifull.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Om bildene<\/h3>\n<p>Hovedbildet av Skoda Rapid er tatt p\u00e5 \u00c5rnes i anledning Bildilla. Den sto parkert p\u00e5 plassen for &laquo;\u00c6rlige biler&raquo;. Det er en 1985-modell. Den r\u00f8de Skoda Garde er fotografert p\u00e5 Bratislavas Transportmuseum. Bilen vi kan skimte ved siden av, er en BAZ Locusta. BAZ er navnet p\u00e5 Bratislava Automobilfabrikk og &laquo;Locusta&raquo; var en prototype p\u00e5 en ny Rapid-basert modell med frontmontert motor. Bildet under er et interi\u00f8rbilde fra en Skoda 135 Sedan (ikke Rapid). Den gule bilen er en Skoda 110R Coup\u00e9 basert p\u00e5 Skoda MB1000.
