Nei! &#8211; kom det bryskt fra faren. Men gutten hadde jo sett de fire ringene i grillen han&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Medlem av unionen<\/h3>\n<p>De 4 ringene i DKW&#8217;en symboliserer det samme som i dagens Audi&#8217;er. Hver ring representerer ett av merkene som gikk inn i samarbeidet. De fire er Audi, DKW, Horsch og Wanderer. For Audi, Horsch og Wanderer bet\u00f8d sammensl\u00e5ingen egentlig &laquo;kroken p\u00e5 d\u00f8ra&raquo;. Merket som fikk leve videre etter sammensl\u00e5ingen, var faktisk DKW &#8211; etter hvert med endret navn til Audi. Etterf\u00f8lgeren etter DKW Auto Union 1000 fikk typebetegnelsen F102. Den f\u00f8rste Audi fikk betegnelsen F103 som en videref\u00f8ring av DKW-serien. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">DKW var ingen d\u00e5rlig bil<\/h3>\n<p>Vi som har levd en stund, har lett for \u00e5 se p\u00e5 2-taktsmotorene som mindreverdige motorer. De er enkle, lette, turtallsvillige og relativt st\u00f8ysvake. De var billige \u00e5 produsere, men dessverre ofte ikke like holdbare som 4-takterne. DKW f\u00f8rte en argumentasjon om at 3 = 6. En 3-sylindret 2-takt tilsvarte 6-sylindret 4-takt. En firetakter trenger to sykluser for \u00e5 tenne alle 6 sylindre, mens totakteren tenner sine 3 p\u00e5 hver syklus \u2013 og da har begge motorene utf\u00f8rt samme jobb. Det skal vel ogs\u00e5 tilf\u00f8yes at DKW lagde verdens beste 2-taktere for vanlige biler. Dessuten var bilene solide og vakre. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Modellhistorikk<\/h3>\n<p>Modellen ble produsert i flere varianter fra 1958 til og med 1963. Det var &laquo;1000&raquo; og &laquo;1000 S&raquo; for &laquo;Super&raquo;. Begge hadde 981 ccm 2-taktsmotor med forhjulsdrift og 4-trinns girkasse med rattgir. Standardbilene fikk 44 HK, mens Super fikk 50 HK. Andre spesielle egenskaper med Super-varianten, var panorama frontrute og st\u00e5ende speedometer av samme type som Mercedes-Benz hadde p\u00e5 den tiden. Flere karosserivarianter fantes ogs\u00e5. Den utgaven det finnes flest av i dag, synes \u00e5 v\u00e6re 2 d\u00f8rer Coup\u00e9 uten midtstolpe. De ble tilbudt i to utstyrgrader &#8211; <em>standard<\/em> og <em>Deluxe<\/em>. Foruten Coup\u00e9 kunne man f\u00e5 DKW som 2 og 4 d\u00f8rer sedan, 3 d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn og i en helt spesiell sportslig versjon.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nDKW med 4 d\u00f8rer har jeg aldri har sett. De finnes p\u00e5 bilder, blant annet fra Brasil der 4 d\u00f8rer sedan skal ha blitt produsert som <em>continuation model<\/em> under bilmerket <em>DKW-Vemag<\/em>. Den vakreste utgaven er utvilsomt DKW Auto Union 1000 SP &laquo;Spezial&raquo; som fikk et helt annet karosseri enn de andre bilene i herlig 50-tallsstil som lignet en liten
