Modellnavnet &laquo;Taunus&raquo; skulle dukke opp noen \u00e5r senere &#8211; som 1971-modeller. Den f\u00f8rste serien fikk en midtlivs facelift for modell\u00e5r 1974. Da fikk alle modeller plastgrill og det s\u00e6regne nedsunkne dashboardet ble erstattet av noe mer konvensjonelt. For modell\u00e5ret 1977 kom Taunus II &#8211; som ny modell &#8211; mk2. Den fikk skarpere linjer og en ny front uten den spesielle opph\u00f8yningen &#8211; &laquo;nesen&raquo; over panseret. Fra 1980 fikk modellen en siste endring f\u00f8r den ble faset ut som 1982-modell. Hvem vet? Kanskje Ford en dag oppkaller en ny modell etter sine vakre, <a href=\"https:\/\/no.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Taunus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>tyske fjellomr\u00e5der<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"tebh2\">Mange varianter<\/h3>\n<p>Modell-familien besto av f\u00f8lgende karosserivarianter: 2- og 4-d\u00f8rer sedan, 5-d\u00f8rer stasjonsvogn og 2-d\u00f8rer Coup\u00e9. I Norge kunne du ogs\u00e5 f\u00e5 den som 2-seter varebil med vinduer. De mest solgte motorvalgene var 1300 og 1600, mens de gjeveste var V6&#8217;erne fra M-serien: 2,0 og 2,3. Fra \u00e5rsmodell 1977 kunne man ogs\u00e5 velge 2-liters rekkefirer-motoren fra Granada. P\u00e5 utstyrssiden kunne man velge L, XL, GT og GXL. En bil med GXL-front, skinnseter, vinyltak, lettmetallsfelger og V6 var en skikkelig direkt\u00f8rbil. Men de fleste m\u00e5tte n\u00f8ye seg med 1600 OHC motoren. at det handler om en modell som skal erstatte b\u00e5de tysk Ford P6 (12M og 15M) samt engelsk Ford Cortina mk2. Da ble begge modeller produsert p\u00e5 samme anlegg i Belgia. Forskjellene mellom de to modellene ble fjernet.
